Although pop music from Sam Smith and Maroon 5 rules the Billboard 200 chart for the week ending November 9, R&B staple Chris Brown held on to his #3 placement for the second week in a row with his latest project, Heartbreak On A Full Moon.
Offset, 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s Without Warning has maintained a Top 5 placement for its second week while Post Malone’s Stoney hangs tough in the Top 10 at #9 in its 48th week on the chart.
Elsewhere on the chart, Khalid’s American Teen makes an 11 percent leap to land in #15 and Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. sits in the Top 20 at #17. K. Dot’s critically acclaimed album has been on the chart for the last 30 weeks and has hit the #1 slot multiple times.
Finally, Gucci Mane’s Mr. Davis, Future and Young Thug’s Super Slimey and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s Bigger Artist all squeeze in with Top 25 placements.
Holding Steady
Chris Brown has continued to dominate the chart with his latest musical journey, Heartbreak On A Full Moon. The massive 45-track project has landed at #3 for the second week in a row (this time counting a full week’s sales) with 73,397 total album equivalent units moved (19,545 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 75,590,725).
The polarizing singer has been pumping out successful albums since his self-titled debut in 2005. The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 and was eventually certified double platinum. His last project, 2015’s Royalty, debuted at #3 and is currently certified gold.
Secured The Bag
Migos rapper Offset, producer Metro Boomin and 21 Savage’s new project Without Warning has landed in the #5 slot with 55,625 total album equivalent units sold (4,056 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 74,382,820. The project came on the heels of Migos’ collaborative track with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, “Motor Sport.”
American Dream
Khalid’s debut album, American Teen, was released in March and has been on the Billboard 200 for the past 36 weeks, even longer than Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. The emotive R&B project has taken an 11 percent jump in sales to land at the #15 spot. The album sold 27,666 total album equivalent units (4,418 in pure albums and collected a streaming count of 30,921,137).
The El Paso teen recently celebrated his accomplishments on Instagram, posting a photo of the platinum plaques he’s earned in Australia for “Young Dumb & Broke” and “Location,” two tracks from American Teen.
