Gucci Mane is once again teasing his departure from Atlantic Records. The influential trap rapper wondered aloud about leaving the label via Twitter on Thursday (June 25).
“Should I renew contract with @Atlantic records or go independent big press conference July 3rd who should do interviews???” he asked.
Earlier this month, Gucci indicated he would leave Atlantic on July 3. In a since-deleted tweet, he also called the label “polite racist.”
“Leaving #AtlanticRecords July 3rd these crackers polite racist #SoIcySummer,” he wrote.

July 3 is the release date of Gucci’s new album So Icy Summer. Although his latest tweet makes it seem like he might stay with Atlantic, a Twitter post the day prior suggested he’s embarking on a new venture.
“So Icy Summer name of my new album dropping July 3rd announcing my new situation,” he declared on Wednesday (June 24).
Gucci dropped his last project East Atlanta Santa 3 in December. His most recent single, “Still Remember” featuring Pooh Shiesty, was released via Atlantic on June 19.
He should do us the profound courtesy of shutting up and doing whatever Stoopid thing he wants to do! This guy’s been one of the problems with rap music. Despite being a sell out of a record label, perhaps Atlantic has started seeing him for who he really is – the wackest rapper alive.

Maybe so and maybe he’s giving ppl a bit of some truth about the label and he has a contract to honor.but if we’re being real Caucasians run All hip-hop labels and young black men or kids are so desperate for a deal they don’t understand they’re being indirectly or directly controlled by the record executives. The only time a black dude may own a part of a label is if his label is a off shoot of the white executives label. Therefore they still OWN you AND you’re giving the white executives a cut. It happens on every record label & its really sad because so many black ppl who want to rap sign fkd up deals and still don’t know they’re being controlled. We don’t want whites or any other race to disrespect us YET we allow it every day for the sake of money and the white executives agents managers etc know this. You’re going to do wtf they tell you and they’re going to make it look good on social media and interviews and where ever else and because of your ignorant ass you’re going to allow it..ALL for $$$

maybe gucci can give us insight in to atlantic records releasing music with atlantic records. what do they talk about, who is the boss, any conflict… etc.

You’re talking about some old beef from like 10 years ago. They’ve since reconciled and if you were really into hip hop ( ok maybe you are but been under a rock with certain stories) you’d know they both spoke in depth about their PAST beef . Also since you dont know either of them you dont know anyone in Gucci clique so you don’t know how they’re treated. Can’t stand when ppl comment on old stuff not knowing ppl reading like me has been on top of hip-hop cultue and music for over 40 yrs probably before you were born.
