Gucci Mane Lied About Killing Jeezy’s Friend Pookie Loc, Says Former Manager

Gucci Mane has been accused by his former manager of lying about killing Pookie Loc, an associate of his former rival Jeezy.

Debra Antney, the mother of Waka Flocka Flame who helped steer Gucci to success in the mid-late 2000s under her Mizay Entertainment company, made the bombshell claim during an appearance on the Ugly Money Podcast.

Antney — who also used to manage Nicki Minaj, French Montana and OJ Da Juiceman — was asked about Gucci and Jeezy’s 2020 Verzuz battle, during which Guwop taunted his then-foe by bringing up the death of his friend Pookie Loc, who he allegedly killed.

“Technically, you really didn’t kill anybody,” she said. “All these kids think that you’re the number one killer so let’s stop talking about it because now you’re a dad, you got two sons. Think about your kids looking at you a certain kind of way of something that’s fictitious. It was done for rap.”

When podcast host Ugly Money Niche pressed Antney about her claim that Gucci didn’t actually kill Pookie, she replied: “No” while shaking her head.

Pookie Loc (real name Henry Lee Clark III) was shot and killed in May 2005 during a robbery attempt at a property where Gucci Mane was visiting. The 1017 rapper was visiting a female friend in Decatur, Georgia when Clark and three other men burst into her apartment.

The assailants assaulted Gucci and a scuffle ensued, before gunshots were fired and the men fled the scene. Clark’s body was discovered several days later outside a nearby middle school.

Guwop was arrested and charged with Clark’s murder, but the charges were later dropped due to insufficient evidence. He admitted to police that he had fired at the group, but insisted he acted in self-defense.

Pookie Loc’s death further fueled the beef between Gucci Mane and Jeezy, which stemmed from a dispute over their 2005 hit collaboration “Icy,” and would continue to fan the flames for years. Jeezy referenced Pookie’s passing on his 2015 song “Forgive Me,” denying long-running rumors that he had sent him to rob Gucci.

“Rest in peace to Pookie Loc, blame it on me never snitching / Lord knows I ain’t send the homie on no dummy mission,” he rapped.

In their aforementioned Verzuz battle, Gucci rubbed Pookie’s death in Jeezy’s face by performing his 2012 song “The Truth,” which contains the line: “Go dig your partner up, n-gga, bet he can’t say shit.” He further taunted the Snowman by saying he was “smoking on Pookie Loc tonight.”

Despite the low blows, the Southern stalwarts buried the hatchet by performing “Icy” together to close out the battle. Gucci later admitted regret over his Pookie disses during the contest.

“I don’t even like to perform that song,” he said of “The Truth” in an interview with Rap Radar‘s Elliott Wilson and Brian “B.Dot” Miller at the 2022 REVOLT Summit last September. “When I left, I was like, ‘Damn. I wish I wouldn’t have said what I said.’”

He added: “I didn’t know when I got on the stage, that was gonna happen, [that] I was gonna say that. I ain’t like, ‘I’m bringing negative energy.’ It just really came out.”

    1. He’s didnt murder pookie loc, but he killed him in self defense and dumped his body off.

This woman is making claims and not explaining them. Pookie loc didnt kill himself, Gucci killed him.

    3. According to Webster dictionary justifiable homicide is defined as:

the killing of a person in circumstances which allow the act to be regarded in law as without criminal guilt.

This is still labeled as a murder in every state, eventhough, its self defense.

    4. Why does it matter? We gotta get rid of this backwards mentality people! The only “glory” in killing someone in self defense is you walk out with your life and hopefully without lingering injuries. The ex manager is a super bozo

    5. Cap. Lady been sour toward Guwop. Streets are the judge and jury, not you. This would have been out a while ago. You talking about almost 20 years!
