GoldLink addressed the controversial statements he recently made about Mac Miller during an overseas tour stop on Wednesday night (November 27).
While speaking to the crowd, GoldLink defended his polarizing Instagram post that essentially accused the late Miller of biting his work. At the same time, he acknowledged Miller for blazing a trail for him.
“Let me tell y’all something right now,” he says. “Mac Miller is one of my best friends in the whole fucking world. Mac Miller is my best friend in the industry. That’s one of my best fucking friends to this day. Without Mac Miller, there would be no GoldLink.
“Imma be a sacrifice for everybody in this fuckin’ shit right now. You say whatever the fuck you want … you say it however the fuck you want it. You don’t have to explain yourself to no-motherfuckin’-body … we ain’t worried about niggas that we don’t know.”

From there, GoldLink spoke specifically on the post and denied he was attempting to steal credit for influencing Miller’s 2016 album The Divine Feminine.
“The whole post I that made about Mac Miller was about love and that niggas can actually be brothers,” he continued. “It wasn’t about stealing. I never used the word copy. I never used the word steal. The thing is, Mac Miller wrote all of Divine Feminine. That was a great album.
“The fact that he made a nigga a cake was one of the most heartwarming shits when you’re a young nigga in the game. What rapper makes other rappers cakes? …. That’s some cute boyfriend-girlfriend shit we was doing…That’s one of the realest nigga as I ever met. So I don’t give a fuck what nobody say about it.”
GoldLink shared the post in question earlier this week, quickly catching the wrath of Miller collaborator Anderson .Paak who called the post “disrespectful, narcissistic, jealous grossly unnecessary.”

Goldlink needs to just stop posting/talking about this. If it was all love then why even include some weird sh*t about Mac biting your style? If you don’t care what random people are saying, then why take the time out of your own show to talk about what everyone is saying? Dont be a lame.
cause he had to and i dont think he meant any real disrespect. goldlink thinks his album inspired mac to make divine feminine. nothing wrong with that
I got the same impression. The way he talked about it, it even came across a bit like he was happy mac was inspired by him. While he does say that’s where are problem started, the rest of what he wrote seems to imply that the problem was Mac feeling bad about it. Not that Goldlink hated him for
Mac wasnt his bestfriend but its something to say against the backlash that no one can really prove wrong most likely. This guy is getting desperate.
“What rapper makes other rappers cakes? …. That’s some cute boyfriend-girlfriend shit we was doing…”
Dude is an assface.
