Eve Speaks Out About Nicki Minaj’s #BreakTheInternet Photoshoot

Rapper and newly minted talk show host Eve voiced her issues with Nicki Minaj’s cover shoot for Paper Magazine on Wednesday’s (November 15) episode of The Talk.

The photoshoot, which was labelled as a sequel to Kim Kardashian’s nude #BreakTheInternet photoshoot from 2014, featured several versions of Minaj in suggestive poses and skimpy outfits.

Eve expressed huge respect for the record-breaking rapper from Queens, but said it wouldn’t be something she’d do personally.

“It’s one of those things because I worked with Nicki, I got to know her on Barbershop, and she is incredibly, like, she is a nice person,” Eve told the audience. “She’s an amazing rapper, and as a lyricist I respect her as a lyricist. But as a woman, from my point of view, personally, I wouldn’t be able to do that.”

“I think, in this climate, it’s not good,” she continued. “I think every artist has a right to express themselves however they want to express themselves, and I respect that as well. For me personally, as I started coming up in the business, I started realizing that young girls were looking up to me, and younger people were looking up to me.”

“Not that you want to want to be a role model, but it is what you are,” Eve finished, to applause from the audience.

It’s Eve’s first week as a permanent member at the table on the Daytime Emmy Award-winning show.

Eve hasn’t been the only one to call out Nicki Minaj for risqué poses and outfits, but others have pointed out how society and the internet take so much more notice when a woman is wearing less.

    1. Oh my God! It’s one of the reason why I love EVE #SO MUCH. She is trying her best to be descent, I know everyone is fighting his/her devil but to be realistic, she is trying and I give her 80% for that

    2. Young girls were looking up to u? Yeah when you were relevant and when you were you were selling sex left and right you hypocrite. Gtfoh.

    3. HYPOCRITE!! STRAIGHT HYPOCRITE! I guess she forgot her stripping for money days. Why not speak out about strippers? Just because she married some European millionaire now she brand new. Sex sells, Nicki doing what she needs to do to stay relevant. It’s sad she gotta result to that but that was always her gimmick.

      1. Eve is no gold digger at all if that’s what you suggesting. She dated a boy from Ghana when she was hot. How many girls would do dat with her status?

    4. Eve’s not a hypocrite at all. The more success she attained, the classier she behaved. The more of a role model she became, the more she acted like one. Nicki is working in reverse. Props to Eve..

    5. Yall stupid AF calling her a hypocrite. She did what she needed to to get to where she is, once she was in the spotlight where people were looking up to her, was she still portraying herself as a stripper? Nah oh ok then. Ppl can look back and regret, its human nature.

    6. SHE WAS A STRIPPER AND HAD A SEX VIDEO WITH STEVIE J! Is she serious right now? Come on Eve when you say things like this but your history is questionable, you come across as a hater. Wow

    7. When you have no talent sex sells take your clothes off and when that body and face start to sag it will be over like your other 15mins of fame
