Eminem Surprise Drops ‘Music To Be Murdered By: Side B’ To The Delight Of Stans Everywhere

Well, the rumors were true after all. On Thursday night (December 17), Eminem delighted Stans all across the globe when he unleashed the B Side to his latest studio album Music To Be Murdered By.

Comprised of a total of 36 tracks, the deluxe version of the project — the simply titled Music To Be Murdered By: Side B — features production from Dr. Dre and Royce Da 5’9 as well as guest contributions from DJ Premier, Ty Dolla $ign, MAJ and White Gold, among others.

Rumors online suggested the album was imminent after “Godzilla” director Cole Bennett was spotted in Detroit’s 8 Mile and a bearded Eminem was then caught shooting what looked like a music video in front of a green screen.

Eminem's 'Music To Be Murdered By: Side B' Is Happening According To Dr. Dre Affiliate Dem Jointz

Then, Aftermath Records and Dre affiliate Dem Jointz shared an Instagram photo of his various projects over the year, which included the cover art for both the original Music To Be Murdered By and the Side B.

Clocking it an nearly two hours, Music To Be Murdered By: Side B should hold Eminem fans over — at least until 2021.

    1. This is how deluxe versions should be dropped! I appreciate the mans artistry and am a fan, but wish the artists I’m a truly die hard fan for, did something like this *side eyeing Lupe, Wu, Royce, Black Thought etc* lol! Love y’all, jokes aside…

      1. Like how? What are you talking about? An album on top of another album? Leftover songs on top of said album? Uzi and Wayne already did this months ago. Or were deluxe editions corny until Em did it?

        1. Nah. I mean, let us fans milk the hell out of your album, and get prepared to wait a long time for a new project to drop. And all of a sudden, bladow! Surprise drop. I know Wayne and Uzi did it bro/sis. What I’m saying is, both of them followed up real quick right? Np. But imagine a dope album you like, and after so much time, the deluxe drops. The surprise elements and waaaaay after the fact. I’m not an Em stan. I’m a fan. I’m just saying a rollout like this (and he isn’t the first) is appreciated by the fans like me. It’s just a dope Avenue is all I’m saying, that fan bases should enjoy. No confrontation here. Just my thoughts. Be at peace. I’m just talking music lol

          1. Wayne did just that with the Carter V a few months ago, lol. 2018 album and 10 more tracks two years later. Sorry for going at you like that, thought you might’ve been one of them. (I’m ready for the smoke, lol). If you like it then enjoy it.

    2. Should of left deluxe edition off & keep side B. Would of been his first double album. Guess it could still be referred to as.

    3. *sigh* Insert “Eminem is the GOAT! This album is a classic. If you don’t like it, you don’t understand real hip hop and lyrics and listen to [xyz ‘mumble’ rapper]. And you’re also a racist!” comment here.

      1. If I think Eminem is the GOAT u dont understand hiphop and lyrics and want a white boy to be the Elvis of hiphop…LMAO…BIG, Pac, Pharoah Monch,Pun…LMAO…bet u neva heard of Big L huh Sabastian?…especially that wack ass “Dead Wrong” verse…LMAO…Jada would rip his head off too GW-BOAT…greatest white-boy of all time….nothing more nothing less(sorry to crush ya lil koolaid pumper)

    4. Eminem is up there with the best to ever so it based on his first 3 or 4 albums and everything he did up to then. However, for a long time now his shit us just annoying and he tries to hard. The cadence on these tracks is fucking irritating and does not sound good. The hooks are awful.

      1. Eminem is straight trash bro. Everyone keeps talking about his flows, but all he does is make shit rhyme with no rhythm. One of the most annoying voices ever.

        1. “One of the most annoying voices ever”, Lil’ Wayne has that. Em’s high-pitched delivery can get annoying, but nowhere near as horrible as Wayne.

    5. Not really feeling it as much as part 1 to be honest . Did like “Zeus” though . Interestingly , he sent a few jabs at snoop in it .

        1. Took over? Lmao…how long was Snoop gonna be Dre’s protege? By the time Em came out in 99 Snoop was Master P’s “protege”….please cease with the “t(f)ake over” analysis

    6. I’ll give it a listen when I’m taking a shit later and if it’s trash I’ll give it a bad review later … “Only bottom I’ll be hittin is sodomy” / that’s naaaaaaaaaasty!

    7. Get the fuck outta here with this trash eminem. The flows on this album are just embarrasing. So he can make words rhyme, but dude dont have any rhythm whatsoever. Next.

    8. I wish Em would leave every “volatile relationship” track he makes off these projects. I think mostly these albums are decent enough, but those tracks are all the same and just so boring to listen to now. 50 year old guy talking like a 20 year old f#€!boy man.

        1. But Em’s first two albums are all killer no filler. No skip tracks! I don’t want an artist putting out music where I have to skip half the garbage on there.

    9. his group d12 are rather good maybe we might hear more from them in future? uh, but isn’t bizaaree dead? as for other eminem music i will pass. this is what he should have been consistently doing after his first album it just would have tidied up his career without all the lame humour. kamikaze, that’s another one. the beastie boys retreat and eminem comes in to steal their i am a white man limelight. 20 years they only put out three albums how in the fuck can they get away with that?

    10. Side B is a much stronger album and doesn’t need the rest past song 16. Wasn’t a fan of the original and haven’t liked an Em album since Relapse, but this is really good stuff imo. Flow is a lot slower and deliberate, and he’s got some stuff to say. Most of my criticisms of modern Eminem have actually been addressed to varying extents. Not perfect but a solid 7-7.5. it’s good to hear this Em back.

      1. Says Mr Idiot that can’t understand the difference between being “anti-gun” and Pro gun control and is also apparently too stupid to separate entertainment and actual real life gun violence.

    11. Just enjoy the music. I had my first listen through the album this morning and I thought it was a strong collection of beats and flows.

        1. Westside gunn has already left Shady Records and Conway is leaving after he drops “God Don’t Make Mistakes” in February… Shit is over lol

    12. “you heard of Kris Kristopher son/ Well I’m Pissed Pissedofferson/ Paul’s asking for Christmas off again/ I said no and I spit this song for him/”

Fire. Except that Paul Rosenberg is more likely to request Hanukkah off, not Christmas.

      1. Is that a joke? The Kriss Kristoperson is the weakest line on the entire record! I laughed out loud when I heard it. “Fire” haha! Smh.

    13. Not really feeling it at all production-wise and his flow/nasaly/goofy sound. A disappointment compared to the better Side A.

      1. …He murdered this album.. Alfred’s Theme shows why he is the goat. Respect your opinion. But I think with a few listens, I hope your opinion changes

        1. With a couple more opinions, it’s changed slightly because of his bars. But production-wise, it’s mostly unpleasant to my ears with the exception of a few tracks including Black Magic, Book of Rhymes, Guns Blazing, and Zeus. It’s a shame that the classic Dr. Dre sound of Discombobulated is the highlight in musicality of the whole album.

    14. when did eminem start thinking rapping run on sentences is enjoyable to listen to? this is trash. rapping fast doesn’t cut anymore, he needs to actually have some substance and not sound so cringeworthy

      1. George, he’s not rapping too fast you’re just listening to slow. Go read along with the lyrics and I’m sure you’ll only catch a quarter of the substance.

    15. If you’re going to criticize today’s hip hop artists for their production and overuse of autotune, then you have to criticize Eminem for always rapping fast as well. This project is a huge step backwards and that’s just sad.

    16. Honestly Side B should have been called something different. It’s very different from the first half, which I found lackluster.
Side B, he actually sounds like he’s having fun again and doing whatever he wants instead of what he thinks people want to hear.
Regular flow, not much fast rap. His beats have always been simple and nothing spectacular.
That’s what made the first 3 albums great. He didn’t give a shit.
