Eazy-E’s Daughter: “I’m Riding With Jerry [Heller] ‘Til I Die”

The reactions to Jerry Heller’s death are still pouring in. TMZ caught up with Eazy-E’s daughter, E.B. Wright, to ask her about her thoughts on the former N.W.A manager’s passing.

“I’m still depressed about it,” she says, a stark contrast to Ice Cube’s reaction at the news of the 75-year-old’s passing.

Wright explains that Straight Outta Compton did not tell the full N.W.A story and that Heller’s death gives her extra motivation to clear up the legacy of her father and that of his good friend.

“I stand behind Jerry Heller to the fullest,” she says. “He was like a second father to my dad, so I’m gonna call him like another grandfather to me. I’m very sad about his passing. I’m just hoping to continue my father’s legacy and Jerry’s and get out the truth so people can really understand.”

She points to an Instagram post she made at the time of Heller’s passing last week defending the man who partnered with her father to establish Ruthless Records.

“I told people, I don’t want any negative comments because I know people see the movie and they feel like he ripped everybody off and he was evil and all this stuff,” she says. “But honestly, how I feel is he was equivalent to what Jimmy Iovine is to Dr. Dre today. I think that back then, they didn’t understand that. I’m riding with Jerry ’til I die.”

Heller’s defamation lawsuit against the Straight Outta Compton filmmakers was allowed to move forward in July and upon his death, Heller’s lawyer suggested that the added stress his client endured from the film contributed to his death. Heller died in a car crash after suffering a heart attack. E.B. says she can understand how this would be true.

“He lived many years of people hating him and thinking wrongly of him,” she says. “People don’t know the truth. They feel like they know so much. They feel so strongly about it. ‘We hate him. He was such a bad guy.’ That takes a toll on a person who knows that they were very genuine and really had everybody’s best interest at heart.”

    1. Definition of Stockholm syndrome: Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon described in 1973 in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness.

    2. That was a extremely sad, weak and coward move by Cube to say what he said about Jerry show’s you the type of person cube really is. The man died, just thank him for the opportunity he gave you, he was always thankful of N.W.A. Cube should have just brought up some good points about Jerry. Cube is one of the biggest frauds the Rap game has ever seen, funny how he made it look like in the movie when he got in a fight with Above the Law that he got some punches off, it’s well documented by plenty of people cube got his ass whooped bad.

      1. Jerry must have F cube girl or something that nigga can’t get over some business. Why Cube still so mad he never even sign the contracts.

    3. How the heck she know anything when her dad passed away when she was a kid. It ain’t like he told her what happened.

    4. Can anyone explain why Ice Cube is still upset with Jerry and still disrespecting that man even after he died. Cube never even sign the contracts so what’s the deal??? I have heard Cube say in one interview that yea he was getting paid for doing shows with N.W.A and then years later he claim he was never paid. Cube has flip his story a couple of times. Cube wanted to go solo regardless, he wanted to be a solo artist. I’ve heard stories that Priority gave cube the same contract that Ruthless offered him.

    5. “I’m riding with Jerry Heller till I die.” In the meantime, could you ride on my face right quick?

    6. The same contract that Ruthless offered cube, he sign that same contract with Priority #Facts Ya’ll better stop buying into Cube hollywood made up bs. He is a story teller thats what he does.

    7. E.B made a great point Jerry similar to what Iovine is to Dre. Iovine saved Dre’s career multiple times. Jerry was just a business man and yall hating him like he killed your dog or something. Air Jordan is snake yall still rock jordans, Jay Z is a well known snake yall still listening to reasonable doubt,

    8. shes right. the same people who call out heller are the same ppl who will hang out with or defend birdman and didy and them who did the same if not worse than heller

    9. I disagree with everybody about ice cube. This young man has made great success and now he’s on top. However, He is not the only one to produce the movie soc. Ice cube does not have to fake like other people do. As soon as some one dies, here comes these fake ass people trying to lie for this person to either make themselves feel better, or to ease their conscience. There is an old saying, when you alive, people lie on you; but, when you die, they try to lie for you. People should be truthful and real about how they feel about a person when they are alive or dead. Don’t wait until somebody dies, then your story changes. For as we know, half of the people who attended Jerry Heller funeral may had some input into what actually took place between him and Easy E. So please, let not fault Cube and Dre for everything. Easy daughter needs to watch how she is trotting because she may open up a can of worms that may or may not bite her in the Ass.

    10. My thing is this. No pun intended to E.B. Wright. But she compared Jerry and Eazy to JimmIe and Dre and its no comparison. Jimmie Iovine co owned a parent label. Jerry owned no label. He bossed people around Ruthless like it was his instead of running it like a general manager and taking what he wanted without consulting Eazy. Aftermath never had a artist that wasnt getting paid right when their album blew up. Most of Ruthless artist left or complained about not getting paid right.Jimmey advised Dre. Jerry act like he owned Ruthless and threatened Eazy with lawsuits for firing him. Thats the difference. I would go with the version of the artists and members of the group. Jerry didnt to anything any good manager could do. He took more than what he was owed. He was greedy. He depended on Eazys ear to bring in talent. Jimmey had artist signed just as big as Dre if not bigger.

      1. That is right he was horrible but I can see why she said that we don’t live with her to know that he is good or bad so??????
