Drake’s second and final show at Harlem’s Apollo Theater was hit with some drama when a fan fell from the balcony, prompting the OVO hitmaker to pause the performance.

The incident occurred on Sunday night (January 22) when Drake was about to bring out 21 Savage as a special to perform tracks off their joint album Her Loss.

As the introduction to “Rich Flex” began, a man suddenly fell from the middle balcony and hit a light fixture on his way down. Drake asked the packed Apollo Theater if they were ready, but a group of people waved to him, screaming for help where the fan had landed.

In footage circulating online, Drake and 21 looked into the crowd to see what was going on before realizing what had happened. They then told the audience that they needed to make sure the fan was okay before they could resume the show.

The man was escorted out of the theater to seek medical attention, while an Apollo staff worker began to fix the broken light fixture. The crowd filled the air with boisterous “MVP” chants once the light was fixed before Drizzy and 21 returned to the stage to finish their set.

Despite the hiccup, Drake’s concert was another special night for New York City. The Toronto megastar followed the same career-spanning setlist as his first show on Saturday (January 21) while bringing out Lil Uzi Vert as a surprise guest.

Baby Pluto treated the crowd to “Just Wanna Rock” and “XO TOUR Llif3” and received a heartfelt speech from Drake before he departed the stage.

“I love this guy so much,” Drizzy told Uzi. “Before you go, I just want to say…this guy right here, anytime in life I feel down or whatever, I always get a message from him checking in — never asking for nothing, just checking.

“Not only are you one of the greatest artists of this time, I’m so excited to exist at the same time as you — how you experimental you get, how genius you are — but this guy checks up on me. He’s a fucking real one.”

The Diplomats, who graced the Apollo stage during night one, made a repeat appearance. This time, the Harlem natives “Hey Ma” and “Crunk Muzik,” with Drake joining them and wearing the pink American flag leather jacket designed by Jeff Hamilton that Cam’ron wore in the “Get Em Girls” video.

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and NYC Mayor Eric Adams were some of the famous faces that attended the second show, while three-time NFL Pro Bowler Odell Beckham, Jr. and Brooklyn Nets star forward Kevin Durant were in the house once again after popping out on the first night.

Dipsets’ performance at the first show came with a gift for Drake. After tearing through “I Really Mean It,” “Dipset Anthem” and “We Fly High (Ballin’),” the group gifted Drizzy a custom OVO x Dipset bracelet, while The Boy paid tribute to the NYC crew’s influence.

“These guys right here from Harlem made us dress different, talk different, walk different, rap different — all the way in Canada,” he said.
