The official follow-up to Jadakiss’ trouncing of Fabolous in the virtual Verzuz arena has been announced. Snoop Dogg and DMX have been tabbed by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz to face off in the highly popular Instagram Live battle series on July 22.
“The battle of the dogs @DMX vs @SnoopDogg Wednesday, July 22nd on #VERZUZ,” the account tweeted on Tuesday (July 14). Watch on our IG or @AppleMusic in HD. Drinks by @Ciroc.”
Both Snoop and X have been asking for others to join them in the Verzuz ring, most notably JAY-Z. The D-O-Double-G has made numerous attempts to be known as Hov’s challenger after some attempted to pair Snoop in a mythical Verzuz battle with 50 Cent.
“This is me looking in from the outside, looking at New York rap,” Snoop told Fat Joe in May. “So to me, it would be either Snoop versus JAY-Z because he has been the king of New York around the time I was the king of the west.”
Joe replied, “That sounds like the ultimate battle: Snoop Dogg against JAY-Z.”
Snoop Dogg Wants Lil Wayne To Participate In A Verzuz Battle
In May, X was asked by N.O.R.E. during an episode of the Drink Champs podcast about who he would want for a Verzuz challenger and did not hesitate to name the Brooklyn rapper. The two have battled before in the past and X was ready for another round.
“Jay,” X said. “Who you think? There you go. That would be battle number three.”
X has also said he wanted Eminem but instead, he’ll have to deal with Em’s “Bitch Please II” collaborator.
I got snoop. People been sleeping on his lyrical skill and of course his catalog is as tall as the grand canyon.
I hope he pulls out Sexual Seduction or that track he did with Justin Timberlake. Lyrics are crazy on those joints.

I got love for DMX and he might be the better emcee of the two, but when it comes to HITS, Snoop got this EASILY.
DMX went platinum twice in one year. And he is 100x the MC Snoop ever was. Snoop Dogg’s whole catalog is literally nursey rhymes. On drop it like its hot Snoop said “I wanna get you real hot, and take ya to my cot”. He can never live that down in my opinion, that is the wackest bar of all time Snoop owns that. He has hit records no doubt but you are sleeping on X’s record. Ruff Ryder Anthem, Party Up, Whats My Name, Who We Be, Where the Hood at, we right here, x gon give it to ya, aint no sunshine, Slippin, I can feel it, The Rain, let me fly…the list goes on and on.
