Dave and Nipsey are pretty much my 2 favorite rappers of this generation. Watching both of their career moves in the past couple years shows the big difference in how your career can go based on the decisions you make. Nipsey built a brand, fought for his brand and protected it by all means. He barely did any guest appearances and waited on the right deal.
I guess Dave just figured since he could rap his ass off, everything would take care of itself. He never really built a brand, he did a bunch of guest appearances with randoms and he just keeps putting out projects that are not making noise. It’s like he’s running in place. I hope he gets a team around him that can help him get that together. I want to see him win.
I just want to hear this foo over some production from just blaze/harry fraud/araabmuzik/alchemist/bink/ski beatz and more joints with cardo.
Give up the Trap Music, watersprinkler hi hats, screaming or rapping like Meek, and rock some smooooth shit.
was just gonna say the same thing.. i like dude, but his more recent material we’ve seen him pandering more and more to the young, tasteless, trend-following crowd.
He has no choice but to rap on these trap beats if he wants more appeal outside of NY..it’s unfortunate but that’s where the rap game is right now..
The Russia joint is a banger. Carry on Tradition EA$T.
