Cam’ron has been slammed by Skillz for “questioning” Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors’ sexuality and refusing to see Creed III.
The Dipset leader took to Instagram over the weekend after noticing a poster for the boxing film that featured Majors draping his arms over Jordan as both actors stared softly at the camera.
“The reason I didn’t go see creed,” Cam wrote in the caption.
While Fabulous and others found the post humorous, a few fans criticized the Harlem rapper for seemingly being homophobic. Skillz agreed with the critique and took to Instagram to share his thoughts.
“We are our own worst enemies smh. I tell all my homies I love em…Why? Cuz I do! Sometimes it throws em off but Ion care, Ima keep saying that ish. Tomorrow aint promised,” he wrote. “We all getting older man & death is definitley certain.
“Its already hard enough out here for black men as it is bro. You cant even show love or accept it without your own trying to make it out to be something else. I dont know Micheal B Jordan but I know losing Chadwick was hard on him….cuz shit it was hard on all of us.”
He continued: “We clowned that man before he died not even knowing how sick he really was. Maybe Jonathan came into Mikes life when he needed a friend…a bro. How come men cant have healthy relationships with other men without thier masculinity or sexuality being questioned?”
“I put up a post last week saying ‘Black men its ok to smile in your pictures’ and got nothing but dudes saying ‘naaah Ion do that ish Skillz’ you dont what? Smile? And you dont see anything wrong with that?’ maaan the times we living in goofy af. Yall got it. When you die and ya family dont have one picture of you smiling you got it bruh. Hardest obituary pic ever. You won.”
While Cam’ron may have skipped out on one of the highest-grossing sports films of all time, the rap veteran has remained an avid sports fan over the years, and recently started his own sports talk show It Is What It Is.
He most recently put pressure on Shannon Sharpe to come onto his show and called out the Undisputed co-host in a manner reminiscent of Marion “Suge” Knight.
“I seen Shannon curse on TV the other day,” Killa Cam began. “N-gga said, ‘What the fuck,’ then he had to stop himself. Yo Shannon, if you wanna be on television without the producers tellin’ you what to say, without ya co-host cutting you off every time you want to make a statement, come to the team.”
He continued: “Welcome to It Is What It Is, n-gga. Come on n-gga, we got a spot for yo ass, n-gga!”
Cam’s co-host and fellow Harlem rap star Ma$e then chimed in and poked fun at how NBA analyst Jay Williams says, “Keep it a buck.”
“Imagine having to come to work and get paid and you can’t say what the fuck you want, then you watch us say what the fuck we want,” Cam’ron joked.
That’s real… and Idk why people get so worried about what someone else does in their private life. That’s not what’s being presented in the movie.
Don’t mean I have to like it. Keep that shit private then private is key word ind private life.
Black ppl so sensitive, so what if these 2 nighas is gay hahhahahahahhahhahaha
Niggas keep us black people going backwards. Please brothers, don’t be stuck in nigga mode. It’s okay to smile and be happy
It’s just like what Chris Rock said, there are 2 kinds of black folk. There’s black people, and there’s…
Wait wasn’t Camron like the original metrosexual in hip hop? The dudes whole style was pink puffy coats, you think he would be the least likely person to imply someone is gay or soft because of how they present themselves
What up with my people from Harlem? First it was Jim Jones now Cam, really both of y’all are just doin way to much. Please for the community hit the pause button and holla back in a couple of days because your starting to sound like clowns and real Harlem men don’t move like that. Carry on!!!
Never understood why people online found Cam funny. Bc he’s not afraid to be ignorant on camera and on his preschool level raps? Dude has been ass for a minute.
Cam’Ron had gay and AIDS rumors around him, so he needs to chill on that shit.
A lot of that Dipset stuff looked homo-erotic. Dancing around with their shirts off, pink boots, spraying champagne on each other, popping molly together. On top of that, Cam had a song about banging his own aunt, so wtf. I always found those Dipset dudes ignorant. Studio gangsters on dust.
