C-Murder has dropped some new music which he’s dedicated to his “lil homie” NBA YoungBoy – listen to “Dear YoungBoy Never Broke Again” below.
Released on Friday (July 8), the track is an audio adaptation of a letter the former No Limit rapper penned to the young Baton Rouge rap star telling him to keep his head up.
Over a woozy beat, C-Murder floats through the letter as he empathizes with YoungBoy, who has been under strict house arrest in Utah since he was granted bond in a federal gun case last October.
The 22-year-old’s trial starts today (July 13) and he’s already caught an early victory in the case. The judge overseeing the trial dismissed lyrics from YoungBoy’s tracks “Gunsmoke”, “Life Support” and “Lonely Child” after prosecutors sought to use them to connect the rapper to an FN Pistol discovered during his arrest.
“These lyrics are highly prejudicial as they discuss hardcore rap which has been empirically established to be more negatively received than other genres of music,” YoungBoy’s legal team argued, according to Rolling Stone.
“It would be one thing if the music described this arrest. But a song referencing a similar gun well before the gun in the indictment was purchased … offer[s] very minimal probative value and [is] substantially outweighed by the prejudice contained within the words of the songs.”
They continued: “Even if Mr. Gaulden is familiar with various models of guns and sings about them, it does not mean that he knew this particular gun was secreted on the passenger floor of the Maybach when police attempted to pull his car over to arrest him.”
C-Murder has been serving a life sentence since 2009 for his role in the 2002 murder of a 16-year-old named Steve Thomas. The brother of Master P has long maintained his innocence, and through a publicist claimed in 2021 that 31 concealed documents demonstrating an illegal DNA cover-up were the key to his freedom.
The documents were not presented during C-Murder’s trial, and the publicist claims these sealed docs are evidence of “the corruption that led to his current incarceration”. The courts are supposedly fighting to prevent the release of these documents.
“Half my life has been stolen by the Louisiana Judicial System and it stops now!” C-Murder said at the time.

Who gives a flying fuck?
Id rather hear a new Chingy album than have to hear this clown try to rhyme some sad prison bullshit.
He right thurrrrr…. Lol
Give it up Corey, the rap thing has long been over for you bruh. P made the classics, not u. You really can’t rap, and your weak style has just been getting worse each time you try. With role models like C-Murder, I don’t see NBA celebrating 25 years old not incarcerated or worse.
C Murder is a joke. Wack as shit then and more now. He ain’t never seeing pussy again. He had a cool million , maybe, and he blew that shit. I’d trade a.milli for my freedom any day. C just did shit ass backwards. Fool.
