Bone Thugs-N-Harmony & Three 6 Mafia Verzuz Is Going Down: ‘It’s That Time!’

It took over a year to negotiate, but Bone Thugs-n-Harmony will finally step into the Verzuz arena to battle Memphis Hip Hop legends Three 6 Mafia next month.

The official Verzuz Instagram account unveiled the news on Friday night (November 12) with the caption, “IT’S THAT TIME. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony (@btnhlive) vs Three 6 Mafia (@three6mafia) LIVE from Los Angeles!! Thursday, DECEMBER 2ND. Y’all ready!? #VERZUZ MORE DETAILS COMING SOON!”

Judging by the additional comments, there’s something special in store for Hip Hop fans. The post also promised “ALL members” of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony will be on deck: Bizzy Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, Flesh-n-Bone and Wish Bone.

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and Three 6 Mafia were initially supposed to do an event independently from Verzuz in April 2020. But Verzuz co-founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland intervened, and the battle was canceled in the eleventh hour.

According to DJ Paul, Swizz Beatz contacted Krayzie Bone less than an hour before their Instagram Live battle was scheduled to begin and persuaded him to postpone the event. A year later, DJ Paul shared a screenshot of a Zoom conversation between himself, Krayzie Bone, Verzuz co-founder Swizz Beatz and Grady Spivey, VP of Entertainment Strategy at Triller to Instagram, hinting negotiations were back on.

Krayzie Bone Adds Credibility To DJ Paul's Three 6 Mafia Verzuz Bone Thugs Claims

Speaking to HipHopDX in August, Krayzie Bone was optimistic about the possibilities, saying, “It’s not confirmed yet, but we had conversations yesterday about it. It’s indeed a very strong possibility. We’ll probably try to make it happen realistically after the TLC tour [September/October].”

Sure enough, all parties ultimately came to an agreement and the battle will officially take place in Los Angeles on December 2. Check out the flyer above.

    1. Bone Thugs are the GOAT, they are too talented its not fair for 36 lol! plus Bizzy gonna be with em! check out how many hits.record sales! BTNH are in league all alone.. Bone vs Naughty by nature would have been better IMO!

    2. This is going to be disappointing. Most of triple six’s biggest songs have people on it that aren’t in the group or alive anymore. Crunchy will pull up and gangsta walk on ’em though.

    3. This gone be a great battle but I wish it would have been on Halloween instead… Bone got hits but do they have 20!! DJ Paul and Juicy J got hits (Production) on today’s charts… when hey bring out Drake, Moneybagg Yo, Meg the Stallion it’s over for Bone!! What if Katy Perry come out …damn Paul and Juicy got hits!

      1. What if Bone brings out Phil Collins he equals all of those artist you name by himself so does Mariah, Bone collabs with Biggie, Pac, Pun and Eazy also crushed those people you named. The ones you name are hot now the people Bone collab with are Iconic that’s big difference. Bone has way more hits than 3-6, also Bone also has collabs with Master P, The Game, Asap Mob, Freddie Gibbs, Berner, Wiz Kalifia, Snoop, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, Big Mike, Redman, Akon, Da brat, Tyrese, Wyclef, Fat Joe It’s not a producer battle it’s a Bone Vs 3-6, producing for someone and actually being on the song collabing are 2 different things. Three 6 only has 2-3 platinum albums that includes solo’s and compilations Bone has about 11 platinum albums. You gotta do some research Bone first 3 albums all went more than 4x platinum that ain’t no joke

    4. I love both but Bone my favorite due to the variety and types of music and its content.. Just wish Koopsta and Lord could be here to make it that much more epic! Leggo..

      1. Where are you getting that? E1999 sold 4 million, art of war sold 4 million but it’s a double disc so it really sold 2 million, resurrection sold 1 million and nothing even went gold after that

        1. Strength and Loyalty went gold, plus I tried the single went platinum. East 1999 Eternal is 6x platinum in the U.S. go ahead in google E. 1999 Eternal wiki and scroll down and read the certifications 6x platinum in the U.S alone. Double disc count as 2, so 4x platinum is 4x platinum, Same as Wu tang forever double disc is 4x platinum , same as Outkast double disc sold 5 mill but count as 2 so they are diamond!! Also Creepin on the Come up sold 4 million, so that’s 3 straigt 4x plus platinum albums. Plus count the collection volume one that’s platinum, Bone thugs greatest hits after resurrection that’s platinum. Thug world order after resurrection is Platinum as well.

    5. Do bone got hits ?!?? U crazy for sayin that hell yea they do the problems everybody so caught up with singles and radio shit u tend to actually forgot about the albums !! To b fair I love both groups but T6M Gon get it, also I think y’all forget that BTNH actually has classic songs with PAC, Biggie, and Eazy-E !!!

      1. I’ve been seeing a few people saying that here and there, but I believe those people saying it are just straight 3-6 fans or bone haters or just not that knowledgeable about rap. Anybody that grew up listen to rap through out the 90’s and 2000’s knows Bone was a mega group. The record sales, World wide tours etc. 3-6 was successful too but no where near the magnitude of Bone thugs.

    6. Way other group can go song for song against that? And this does not include their darker themed songs thry may pull out for verzuz t6m

    7. I seen BTNH live in 96 with SWV and Keith Sweat and Bone were the ones lipsyncing. If you look up video of their shows back then, ad-libs over a track.

      1. Your point??? Every artist Rock, Rap, Rnb, Soul, blues, Pop at some point has done that. I’ve seen them live before a few times In 98 and 09 both shows they did they thing
