Beanie Sigel Uses Tupac & Biggie To Address Lack Of “Feeling” In Hip Hop

Beanie Sigel uses Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. to comment on current status of Hip Hop.

During an interview with HipHopIsReal.com, Philly rapper Beanie Sigel was asked to share his thought on today’s Hip Hop scene. He explained that music today lacks feeling, and went on to reference the lyrical content of Tupac and Biggie to prove his point.

Beans explained that both legends were in their twenties when they were at their peak, and despite their youth, still managed to have lyrical content of substance.

“Everything evolves…To me, it’s no feeling in it,” Beanie Sigel said. “I love it when I’m in the club and it come on. I wanna hear it. The bounce on it. The vibe on it. I like that. But when I’m in the wheel at night and I’m on my way home and I’m dolo by myself. I wanna hear ‘What’s Beef.’ I wanna hear ‘All Eyez On Me.’ I wanna hear ‘Smile’ with Scarface, Pac on the joint. I wanna hear that. Right now, it’s no feeling in it. Put it like this, two of the best that ever done it, Tupac and Biggie Smalls. They both died in they early twenties. So, you look at the rappers that’s out now. And the content of the music that they talking about. That’s in they twenties…No disrespect to nobody…but if the shoe fit, wear it.”

Beanie later addressed his musical accolades, stating that he got to where he’s at today because of “the trials and tribulations” he faced.

“All the accolades don’t define me,” he said. “The money, the cars, the jewels, and all that. [It] never defined me. I was who I was when I got off the steps…I’m who I am because of who I am. Because of the trials and tribulations I go through. I’m still here. I been through it. A lot of these rappers they talk about stuff that they never been through. I been through it. It’s nothing to be proud of, but I’m still here.”

All the old heads loved Rakim, Cool J, Nas, KRS, Pac , BIG and Kendrick performance has old men talking however as soon as they try to pay attention to hip hop they quickly see so much BS they turn they heads and attention away. I myself is full fledged old head and I dig Montana 300 and his squad a lil bit, Dave east is cool.. Im a big Curren$y fan and the kid T.Y. seem alright so you keep tellin those lies doggs

    6. You can be a pop star and sell a lot of records, but what Beanie was talking about don’t have nothing to do with that!! He not a spitter and you Drake fans can try to fool us all yall want but he not gone be in nobodys top 5 when he done, Drake=Puff daddy 2016!!!!!! Beanie Talking about lyrical content, not harmonies and melodies!!! SMH!!!

    7. We had the same problems with Diddy in the Nineties, and Mobb Deep came out with the interlude on the infamous stating the same beefs Beans is talking about above, it isn’t a generational thing, I think that with Hip-Hop/Rap there are so many subgenres with in the genre that people get confused, Lil Yachty and Uzi vert will never be able to compare themselves with Pun, Prodigy, Raekwon, just to name a few because they arent lyricists!! Drake cant compare to Scarface or Nas, he isnt a lyricist, its not a generational thing, people need to stop blending genres and realize all rap isnt lyrical, all rap isnt turn up, all rap isnt emotional, keep em separate unless somebody can do everything well then we can blend but dont compare Drake to Dave East, or Uzi Vert to Vic Mensa, its not the same thing!!!!!!
