Anderson .Paak and Blended Babies announced their The Anderson .Paak EP via a press release. The project is scheduled for a September 25 release and will reportedly feature Donnie Trumpet and Asher Roth.
The first single from the EP is “So Slow” featuring King Chip.
Blended Babies, a Los Angeles-based group, executively produced the project. The group has worked with Roth and Sir Michael Rocks.
.Paak appeared on six tracks on Dr. Dre’s Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre.
Aftermath A&R coordinator Drew Corria told HipHopDX how he introduced Dr. Dre and A&R Ty Cannon to the singer through the song “Suede” by NxWorries, which is made up of .Paak and producer Knxwledge.
“Everybody was really digging it,” he says. “Brought him in, started working on music together.”
Corria also says that the Compton track “Animals,” produced by DJ Premier, was originally .Paak’s song.
“We go in the studio, played it and at first, Dre was like, ‘Yo, I wanna get on this for you,'” he says. “It kinda slowly turned into, ‘Yo, can I have this for the album?’ Once they kinda finished the record, Premier came out. They worked on it. It was just a crazy experience.”

Compton Soundtrack was kinda wack.
What you think? Not worth 4 stars
I’m not sure what your definition of ‘Wack” is. Wack meaning probably the most advanced engineered album to date? ‘Wack’ meaning probably the best produced album in 10 years? “Wack” meaning it’s the display of Dre rapping ever? “Wack” meaning it’s probably the most original rap album in the last 10-15 years? I think we need to realize music is more than status quo, it’s more than just familiar sounds that you are used to hearing. This album is great because it’s different from what you hear on the radio and it’s sonically superior to anything that’s out.
i think you’re very wrong but then not everyone has good ears for rap music. I’d let you be!!
I think Compton is definitely one of best hip-hop albums released this year. I’ve been listening to it constantly since it released. I really don’t understand how anybody can classify it as a wack album.
You can always tell by the way people comment who really listens to music and those who listen to review it, comment on a board, and judge albums on features(I hear people say it’s to many feature all the time)sales and who produced the record. Look at all the clowns who catch feelings when a certain album is either rated to high or low. A review is just ones opinion. It doesn’t determine how people feel about an album. Hiphopdx review albums before the record is on sale or a day or two after. That means they don’t even really sit and vibe to the album. They listen or skim through so they can post the review asap.
Compton wasn’t released to get stars. It’s for the people who enjoy good music that may inspire them. You just feeding off the culture. You can’t even tell us why it’s wack. lol You just write wack and hit the button. Fuck I wish you nerds would just listen to Heavy Metal or some shit. Our music is not released to be reviewed by people behind a keyboard.
I listened to.the album for a week or so, and I literally cant remember one song from the album, there isnt one catchy or hard song on the album. Chronic 2001 is superior, dre completely changed his style up, in a bad way. Honestly, none of the beats are good, none of them have that heavy hitter vibe you usually get from very good songs.
I think this Andersaan guy messed up this album big time, theres nothing special about him. Even radio isnt playing that album at all.
At jharp, well if you got an ear for music then you would know that Lupe Tetsuo > Compton. Also Kendrick butterfly > Compton. Both of those albums are better than compton, they have classic songs on there and timeless music. Compton was a big dissapoinment. You always compare a grwat artist to their last work, and this one sucks.
Yo u mfs are crazy and delusional! Im tellin ya! The weakest song on 2001 is better thanany of Compton Soundtrack songs. No song on Compton sndtk can match Still Dre, none whatsoever. This album is average
This guy ruined the Compton Soundtrack, including the girl that sings “kill yourself” on that hook
This EP is dope!! Why does everyone in the comment section comment on Compton but not about the album at hand…..WTF??
