King Chip has been relatively quiet over the past few years when it comes to music releases only appearing sparingly on other’s tracks.

Recently sitting down with HipHopDX News Editor Soren Baker, the Cleveland native spoke about his forthcoming ClevLAfornia project and what fans can expect from it.

“It’s an album about a chapter in my life where I relocated from where I’m from,” he said via a segment of today’s DX Daily. “It’s like the Book of Eli, or the soundtrack of what the Book of Eli supposed to be. [It] compares and contrasts my life from where I spent my whole life to where I’ve never lived before.”

King Chip also explained how hunger is now starting to drive how he wants to release music.

“I’m sick of having surplus,” he explained. “I’m sick of having too much where I don’t appreciate it and I want more and then I get more and I don’t appreciate that and then I want more. It’s like a never-ending story like Lamb Chop’s Play Along.”
