“11.16.18 #Oxnard,” he wrote on Twitter in a post alongside the album cover.

Fans are one step closer to hearing Anderson .Paak’s next LP. Dr. Dre announced he finished mixing his Aftermath Entertainment signee’s album in an Instagram post on Wednesday night (September 12).

“Just finished mixing the album,” Dre wrote. “It’s a celebration bitches!!”

Shortly thereafter, Paak confirmed the news on Twitter.

“ALBUM DONE,” he tweeted. “Time to bring it back home.”

Dre and Paak first collaborated on the former’s Compton project in 2015. The artist formerly known as Breezy Lovejoy contributed vocals for six of the tracks on Dre’s comeback album.

Paak’s currently untitled album will be his first project for Aftermath after signing with Dre’s imprint in 2016. Just weeks prior to his signing, he released the critically acclaimed Malibu LP, which earned him a Grammy nomination.

Paak also teamed with producer Knxwledge — together known as NxWorries — for a collaborative album titled Yes Lawd! in 2016. The project was released through Stones Throw Records despite Paak’s Aftermath contract.

    1. I thought the album was called Oxnard because of the hat and I saw something else a few weeks back with that same name.

      1. What? I’m going to guess you haven’t really listened to Anderson .Paak as his ish is DOPE. This will be one of the albums of the year.

    2. In the 70ies we were looking forward to sex pistols and now we are looking forward to Anderson Paak….. I choose Mr. Paak

      1. Maybe in the 70s you were into the sex pistols lmao… (well 80s), but anyone who listens to music woulda been going for Zeppelin or Floyd. And I’d hope no music head here would put anderson Pak over the legends of the 70s. Classic rock has lots of amazing legends. Like jimi hendrix. Leaps and bounds ahead of anderson pak
. With that said, anderson Pak is still nice. But not comparable to any of music’s legends.

    3. If Dr Dre putting some samples on here from the glory days of his jacking beats from George Clinton and The Late Great James Brown its going to sound dated should got Scott Storch as well to jazz it up a bit

    4. Dre finishes mixing? Dre doesn’t produce anymore? Meh
Hope Dre doing beats for Jon Connor.
      And release detox.
Or aftermath is pretty much done.

      1. Legit. Dre hasn’t shared hot beats in soooo long. Kendrick hasn’t even had a Dr Dre beat yet. Em doesn’t get em anymore. Nobody does. Lame

        1. Compton album? Kdot on dre beats. He did beats for game recently. I guess you get pickier when your a fucking billionaire

          1. Nah. None of the beats were produced by Dr Dre. Look it up. Dre executive produced the album, meaning he watched over the work and led the direction. He didn’t get production credits for any of the beats, because he didn’t make any. The only song on that album that had any Dre signature sound to it was “talking to my diary”.

Not a bad album, but definitely disappointing. I’d hoped for something as good as either of the chronics. Both are timeless classics. Compton is not… Anyone who isn’t a hardcore Dr Dre fan like myself doesn’t even know that Compton album exists.

    5. On the shelf it go to Dre’s vault !!! Next month AP will leave Aftermath do to creative difference and Dre will collect another artist. lol

    6. DR.DRE produced some tracks, mixed the Whole Album and was Executive Producer of the Album! His NEXT BIG THANG after launching KENDRICK on tha World! A New SOUL Movement is Upon Us! That mumble fumble stumble crumble cRap is for kiddies that don’t know any better! #SoulFeastAndersonFeedUs

      1. Where did u get thay from? No word on Dr Dre pruduction. Dre hasn’t done a beat for Kendrick yet even. He didn’t even make any beats for his last album, Compton. So where did u get the idea that he produced tracks on this upcoming album? Can’t find any sources saying this. I’m guessing that you are just saying this, while it ain’t true. I hope it is, but Dre doesn’t drop beats these days.

        1. Took the words out of my mouth lol… Dre did coproduce some tracks on Compton but if Paak gets an actual Dre beat I will buy this album twice lol cause even k dot doesnt have a dre beat and he is like 3 aftermath releases deep

    7. I recently seen an unknown band to me at a small local show – I though these dues are dope-AF … I then tried looking up and finding “Free Nationals” music and found nothing. I came across a lot of articles saying they were Anderson .Paak backing band and thought I’d might as well listen to Anderson .Paak -WHOA! This dude! I hope this album is dope …

      1. It just didn’t accumulate numbers the label wanted. Throw a hook, and if it ain’t getting the big fish, let the small catch go for free. It’s thenormnowadays

    8. How is this guy any different than Bruno Mars. I know he’s signed to Aftermath. He is not a rapper by any stretch of the imagination. He has cool guest appearances though

    9. Why do they keep trying to push this kid on us? We will not listen to his singy rappy music because he’s supposedly a protege.

      1. Yeah i don’t get it outside of throwing other interscope artists on there to help it sell. They’re trying to make this guy into a big deal but I don’t see the audience for it when the market is saturated with dudes just like this.

    10. Didn’t like it… The Dre featured track isn’t very nice. Everything Dre releases these days sound choppy and unfinished. Used to sound smooth and hard. Only 2 songs I like from the album honestly.

    11. It’s a nice album although think Malibu played more to his strengths.

Can’t knock him for putting an album out like this though.

    12. What an ALBUM! DRE! KENDRICK! J.COLE! SNOOP! Q-TIP! PUSHA T! & so much more! Anderson is a GENIUS & part of a really cool New SOUL Power movement! Real Playin’, Real singin’, & Real Songs! DRE thanks for gettin’ behind him & makin’ the World a Better Place with MORE DOPE MUSIC!

    13. I KNOW I BE MADD CRITICAL ON HERE, BUT IT’S A GREAT LISTEN!!! different flavors for different neighbors! enjoyable listening experience!

    14. Its a nice album, but this is total summertime music. This shoulda come out in April. Tough to play these tunes in headphones, under a parka freezing in the city.

    15. was really looking forward to this album, big paak fan.. after 1 listen, still too early to call, but I hear a little more rapping than I would like to.. he’s not a bad rapper necessarily, but I wanna hear dude singing, not rapping. leave the rapping for an occasional freestyle, cameo, or throwaway track, not your album

      1. I blame Dre. He should just stop music and stick to business. When i found out he was executive producing this album I knew it might not be Paak at his best. Good album and def got some dope tracks, but Paak got more talent than they’re using him for. So far Malibu is still my favorite album.

        1. yeah Malibu is a masterpiece.. I was hoping for an album just as good, or dare I say, better.. guess I set myself up for disappointment.. but yeah Dre has been losing his touch. I get it, he’s been in the game over 30 years and got other business ventures, but sadly I agree, maybe he should stay away from the music part.
