Akademiks has found himself in the hot seat after delivering brutal criticism of the City Girls‘ latest album.

Over the weekend, a video surfaced on social media of Akademiks delivering a scathing review of the Florida duo’s latest effort, RAW, the follow-up to their 2020 sophomore album City on Lock.

“I talked to almost the head of the RIAA […] they told me this shit went 15x plastic,” he ridiculed the project, which debuted at No. 117 on the Billboard 200 after selling a reported 10,000 units in its first week.

“They said, ‘Ak, this is the first triple plastic certification we’ve given out.’ He said the last time they dropped a record, it went double styrofoam, but now we gotta go to plastic.”

He continued: “They said, ‘Basically, it’s like a fast food order.’ Paper or plastic? Listen, these two are down horrendous. Now, I’m going to be honest with y’all: the City Girls wave has fizzled out, musically.

“With all due respect to them, JT, you’re clearly the talented one of the two. If I’m you, I jump ship now — you gotta to do the Swae Lee. Out of there, peace. Two fingers, I’m out.”

The podcaster then suggested that JT should let Yung Miami “go host her talk show and follow Diddy around on the island” and that the duo owe Lil Yachty an “apology” as their songwriting has “decreased” since they stopped working with him.

Needless to say, Akademiks’ outspoken commentary did not go unnoticed by Yung Miami, who took to Twitter to clap back at the criticism.

“IF YOU AIN’T ABOUT THAT MURDER GAME THEN PUSSY N-GGA SHUT UP PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!” she wrote.

The Caresha Please star was not alone in her response as close friend and fellow performer Saucy Santana also had choice words for Akademiks.

“Akademiks you keep talking ’bout what the fuck Caresha said to you. How Caresha feel about you, is how she feel about you,” he said during a fiery rant. “In the hood and in a lot of urban cultures, when you see boys that are acting feminine, that are being messy, that are being extra and doing f-g shit — that’s what you address them as.”

The makeup artist turned rapper went on to suggest that Ak was “mov[ing] like a f-g” for picking on female rappers like Yung Miami and GloRilla, the latter of whom he took aim at over the weekend due to her beef with Kai Cenat.

In closing, Saucy Santana suggested the media personality hides away and invited him to “pull up” to Yung Miami’s Halloween party in Miami on Tuesday (October 31).

This is certainly not the first time that Yung Miami and Akademiks have come to digital blows. In May, the latter made similar comments by calling the City Girls star “talentless” and a “clown” during a Twitch livestream.

“Yung Miami is, to me, a clown,” he said. “She’s a one-trick pony. She is not talented [enough] to do anything else. The only active talent is to be like, ‘Yo, I’m pimping these dudes out.’

“While you come out in interviews and you’re crying. You talked to Diddy to DM me. ‘Yo, please, he’s calling me a side chick!’”

Ak continued his tirade by telling Diddy — Yung Miami’s on-again, off-again boyfriend — to “check” his girl.

“Diddy, the only reason why I’m going back in on her, I heard her on some show, she called me a very naughty word,” he added. “Diddy … respect to you, but check your girl.”

Yung Miami retorted in the comments section of an Instagram gossip page and simply wrote: “Batty Boy,” which is Jamaican slang for a homosexual.
