50 Cent’s fifth album Black Magic has been the subject of a lot controversy and speculation since 50 first announced it. After 50 came out and said the album would feature a lot of up-tempo, dance tracks, he then said that wouldn’t be the case. A few months later Fif told fans he may not release the album at all.
That talk didn’t last long though, and Curtis was back to discussing the new styles he was using and the producers he was working with. Lately 50 has been pretty quiet on the music front, but according to Curtis that is by design. Yesterday he Tweeted a message to his followers letting them know he was hard at work.
I haven’t been putting out new music cause I think people need to miss me. I go hard everybody knows this.
Black Magic is expected to drop in 2011.

Dr. Dre declined Cube for Bieber, Eminem brings some pop music shit into the rap game (matter a fact he aint the only one i’ll give you that), and 50 tries so hard to keep his fan base that it makes me feel pity for him. This elements must show you the mentality of the label. They drop Busta (even if they dont want to admit it), Rakim, Marsha, Truth Hurts and many talented artists to keep the goofy ones.

When people won’t even illegally download your album (Soulja Boy)…you’re done. I respect hims as a businessman, sure…but not a musician. Of course he’s trying to get people to miss him.. he virtually has zero buzz in the music industry at the moment. Business-wise, he’s building a good name for himself (like the business deal he had with Sleek), but his fanbase in hip hop is slipping/or already has slipped and he knows this obviously.
