EST Gee has found himself on the wrong side of the law, after being escorted out of the mall by police for wearing a mask they claimed was “illegal.”
It’s unclear where the incident took place, but EST Gee could be seen in a recent clip on his Instagram Stories donning a lion face mask and glasses.
The Louisville rapper could also be heard grilling the cop as he was being led out. “They tell me this shit illegal to wear a facemask now in the mall,” Gee said on his Instagram Stories. “They having the police escort me out.”
He then asked the cop: “It’s illegal to have a face mask in the mall, ain’t it? Now he don’t know, okay.”
Despite this minor inconvenience, EST Gee has had a pretty solid 2023, having dropped off his latest mixtape Mad, which arrived back in March.
The tape serves as a follow-up to his debut studio album, I Never Felt Nun, which dropped in 2022. That project features guest appearances from Future, Bryson Tiller, Jack Harlow, Machine Gun Kelly, and Jeezy.
Speaking to Rolling Stone about I Never Felt Nun, Gee recently opened up about the project’s creative process.
“I just try to, I don’t know, whenever I feel like it’s done, it’s done, so I just be recording,” he revealed. “Kind of stack the songs up and I listen to it a couple times, I might throw it out, give it to somebody, anything.”
Prior to that, Gee dropped, Last Ones Left, which worked as a joint effort between him and 42 Dugg. It spawned several chart-topping singles, including “Who Hotter Than Gee,” “Free the Shiners,” and “Thump Shit.”
