Twitter Loses Its Collective Mind Listening To Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter V”

The moment has finally arrived. Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated album, Tha Carter V, was unleashed into the world on Thursday night (September 27).

The long-awaited release put a cherry on top of Weezy’s 36th birthday and ended a tumultuous chapter in Weezy’s story.

With guest vocals from Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Sossaman, Ashanti, Mack Maine, Nivea, Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter, Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj and the late XXXTENTACION, the 23-track album — understandably — lit Twitter on fire.

Post Malone, who was reportedly added to the project last minute, was noticeably absent.

Some are calling for Tha Carter V‘s release date to be a national holiday while others simply can’t believe it’s here.

    1. It’s better than what I thought it was going to be. That Swiss beat sing was fuckin trash though. Possibly the worst lil waste sing ice ever heard in my life. But overall pretty decent.

      1. Chill with the overreacting shit. That song was cool not terrible or what the kids say “trash”. Better than what any other “Lil” rapper would drop fasho

    2. Agreed….i wanted it to be good…expected it to be trash….overall i’m pleasently suprised….a Lot of fire tracks on the album…
      But that Swiss joint though….Wack.

    3. This album has 3-4 really good tracks. Nowadays that puts you in “album of the year” contention. He is all of these dude’s dad, he made the whole face tat, skinny jean, pill/syrup Lambo shit. Funny thing is, even though I was never a big fan of Weezy’s, he never seemed lame to me doing that shit. All these clones do. Somehow this album seems necessary. Open Safe, Dedicate, Used 2 and Mona Lisa are all bangers IMO. I’m surprised there’s no track with Eminem or Game on here…

      1. I agree- Wayne is the OG to these kids in the mumble rap/trap game and he just schooled them all. This album is both “lit” and lyrical. Probably one of the best albums Wayne couldve dropped with Hiphop in it’s current state.

    4. Im not big on Wayne but if this was condensed to about 13 tracks it wojld be decent…i think he went crazy with the features after finally getting a release date

    5. Im not even a Weezy fan (hes great, just not my thing) but there are some incredible moments in this album.
Especially given the wait, we needed something this epic. Even if there is some filler, it is 23 tracks totaling to 1.5 hrs! Not to mention the Kendrick track is crazy.

    6. Wayne has literally stayed out of the light long enough to let rap get as bad as it’s been – he comes out swinging like it’s mid 2000’s and it’s so refreshing to hear an MC go in like this Wayne is a lean head and he is still vicious on the mic what are these other rappers excuses for real

    7. This shit was wack lets be honest. If Eminem would’ve released this garbage y’all be criticising this wack album. The only dope track in here was ft Kendrick Lamar

    8. The Mona Lisa joint wit Kendrick is easily one the dopest songs to come outta da last 10 years in hip hop… just sayin..

    9. Mumbling to a fast beat ISNT RAP!! People so use to the trash being put out today, that when real fire is dropped it’s wack. Pssh Lil Wayne took us back to the real!!! We needed that! Best rapper alive!!

      1. Absolute trash !!! Lil Wayne is a mumble rapper , awful “rapper” and awful album. You wana talk about great hop hop albums released this year then do your work and look for the real shit rather than this played out mumble jumble trap comercial mindless auto tune garbage pushed by media outlets as real hip hop when its not , it sounds like a Drake album on rocks.

    10. Horrible album , one of his worst to date and thats saying something as most of his stuff is hot garbage, auto tune nonsense that makes no sense with played out trap beats and nonsense lyrics. If your boyfreind likes this album dumo his ass. I cant beleive people still think this clown is talented or amongst the goats. I can name 10 albums off the top of my head alone without researching that are way better than this boring lAME played out trash, fyck wayne hes past it and when he had it he was never that good to begin with.

      1. I can name 10 albums off the top of my head alone without researching that are better than this that DROPPED this year and get next to nothing coverage because the media pushes bullshit like this

    11. The album is weird because most of the songs are dated. The K.Dot record was hinted at by Lamar 4 years ago on Power 106, and you can hear his old style on it. I think it needs further updating, and operates in a weird space. It’s like a time capsule.

    12. Never been a fan of Wayne like that, but coming from Drogas Waves this album is wack as hell! Wayne needs to throw in the towel

    13. This ugly AG Gremlin looking wack POS IS the reason we have shitty rappers with shitty tats and this album is stinky Minaj ass cheeks, why waste your precious time and energy when so much other quality Hip Hop was released on the same day as this stinkinh
