This was the worst song I’ve heard in a long time for many reasons.
1: I am offended at the fact that Quincy Jones, a friend of the late Ray Charles, let Jamie Foxx do the “Ray” impression on this record while Michael Jacksons vocals were left on from the original(how ironic since MJ passed away last year).
2: The auto-tone I joked about being in the song and it featured every artist except the late Roger Troutman and Kanye(he rapped)that ever used auto-tune on this record. Why do that
3: The rappers??????Why have them on this song? I know rap back in 1985 was not a worldwide sensation like it is now but come on???Only Wyclef was qualified to rap cause he hardly raps and he’s from Haiti. It sucked.
4: The Disney generation????Justin Bieber and Hannah Montana????Why?????
My thoughts are this: I greatly appreciate the gesture, but this will go down like the 2001 rendetion of the Marvin Gaye classic “Whats Going On”(hey remember that piece of shit) made for 9/11. Why can’t we create new music and songs that reflect these tragedies just the way these songs came to be created???Lets create the next song instead of relying on past hits to define our legacies. Lets create our own We Are The World, Whats Going On, etc.

Couldn’t they have went there and helped the people or raised money in a different way instead of recycling a 80’s song for world peace that was originally inspired by the success of Band Aids “Do They Know It’s Christmas”(look it up).
