HipHopDX Premiere: Brooklyn-based rapper Thutmose examines relationships in his new single “Blame.” The accompanying music video accentuates the introspective and relatable record.

“Inspiration for ‘Blame’ practically came from all the experiences my friends and family have been through,” Thutmose told HipHopDX. “We always talk about our relationships with each other and just recognizing how often we all find ourselves in complicated relationships. I wanted to tell a story I knew many people would be able to connect to on a deeper level. The track makes me feel very introspective.”

Thutmose brings a unique perspective to Hip Hop as a native of Lagos, Nigeria. The up-and-coming artist moved to New York when he was nine and quickly became attached to the culture.
