HipHopDX Premiere: Jacksonville, Florida rapper and Def Jam artist Trap Beckham is still riding high off the success of “Birthday Chick,” which racked up over 1.9 million Spotify streams and 1.2 million YouTube/VEVO views, hit number five on the Billboard 200, and was featured in the season finale of HBO’s hit series, Insecure. His follow-up single “Going Down” is featured on the 2016 Def Jam Compilation.
His latest offering is a new visual for his single “Came Up,” another irresistible anthem carried by his undeniable hooks and smooth rapping. The video finds him dancing through the desert with Hennessy in hand as he raps about making through all the tough times. Beckham’s debut EP is expected in March.
