“The Junction” is a new animated series that sees Canada-based artists tell the funny and often unexpected stories of how they met and the music they created together, released in conjunction with Red Bull Music Academy.

The first two episodes premiered last week, and features Haitian-born, Montreal-bred beatsmith and the winner of the 2016 Polaris Music Prize Kaytranada in a conversation with 2016 Academy participant River Tiber, and Fool’s Gold founders A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs.

The first episode of “The Junction” premiered last week, featuring Grammy winner and piano maestro Chilly Gonzales and rock provocateur Peaches. Future episodes of the series features artists like Jessy Lanza, Junior Boys’ Jeremy Greenspan, BadBadNotGood, Samuel T. Herring of Future Islands, Lunice, Ango, and 247esp.

The Junction coincides with the 18th edition of the world-traveling Red Bull Music Academy, taking place across Montreal continuing through October. Alongside a robust program of concerts, club nights and public lectures, the series pays tribute to Canada’’s strong history of innovative animation and the current explosion of talented young creators in Montreal.
