Considering one third of the Swet Shop Boys is made of former Das Racist MC Heems, it’s no surprise hilarity ensues in their video for “T5.” Das Racist made a career (albeit a short one) out of their often humorous lyrics.
Directed by Sofian Khan, the two MCs are filmed running through New York City’s JFK Airport as they get racially profiled by the TSA. “Always get a random check when I rock the stubble,” Heems spits. Complete with Milli Vanilli look-alikes, the video doesn’t shortchange viewers on the entertainment factor.
Along with Riz MC (who you might recognize as Naz from HBO’s “The Night Of” series) and producer Redinho, Swet Shop Boys is a fairly new endeavor for Heems. They started churning out singles over the summer from their debut album, Cashmere, out October 14.
