Before becoming the super rap star everybody knows and loves (or hates) as Drake, he was known as Aubrey Graham who played Jimmy Brooks from “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” who unfortunately got shot in a school shooting over a lie his “best friend,” Spinner told the perpetrator. From that moment on he was confined to a wheelchair, thus gaining the moniker “Wheelchair Jimmy.” Here’s a throwback documentary of Drake on the show’s “Degrassi: Unscripted,” highlighting sincere moments from when he was 17-years old, while giving fans an inside look of his life outside of the show. It features Drake showing off his quaint rooming quarters, a super thick stack of notebooks filled with lyrics that he says he, “…probably will never use,” his sweet grandma telling shamelessly promoting his upcoming mixtape and we even get a chance to hear Drake spit a few bars. Since the airing of this interview, Drake has gone on to improve his rhyming prowess and has sold over 5 million records worldwide while simultaneously falling in love with every stripper he meets.

Young Aubrey has always had dreams of being a rapper since he was Jimmy. But, please don’t treat him like he’s that guy from 10 years ago, he’s in a higher place.
