If you’ve been sleeping on Hurt Everybody, consider “2K47” your jarring alarm clock. The group formed exactly a year ago at SXSW, consisting of melodic frontman Supa Bwe, dense double-timer Carl and experimental producer Mulatto Beats. Hurt Everybody exploded onto the national radar with the “Hurt Everybody” EP last July, a project that featured Chicago heavyweights like Alex Wiley, Saba and NBA star Iman Shumpert. A Mick Jenkins-assisted single “Treat Me Caucasian” soundtracked the volatile summer, while many of the EP’s tracks quickly hit six-figure play counts on SoundCloud.
