2 Chainz first introduced the T.R.U. acronym (The Real University) on his critically acclaimed mixtape T.R.U. REALigion. Three years later, he teamed up with fellow Atlanta rapper Skooly, frequent collaborator Cap 1 and former Young Money artist Fre$h a.k.a. Short Dawg to release the #TRUJackCity mixtape.
Multiple featured appearances spanning across 2011-2012, such as G.O.O.D. Music’s smash hit Mercy, pushed the former Tity Boi into hip-hop’s mainstream. However, the world may not be familiar with the other three members of T.R.U.
2 Chainz – “Road Dawg”
The man who needs no introduction, 2 Chainz is the CEO of The Real University. Earlier this year, 2 Chainz announced the independent label, and they dropped their first mixtape shortly afterwards.

Cap 1 – “Bird Bath”
Cap1 may be the most familiar name among 2 Chainz fans. With one of his earliest appearances occurring on Turn Up from 2 Chainz’s T.R.U. REALigion mixtape, his machine gun flow left fans with much to be desired. After dropping Caviar Dreams and Caviar Dreams 2 in 2014, the sky’s the limit for the Chicago MC.
Fre$h a.k.a. Short Dawg f. Ab-Soul – “Addiction”
Short Dawg (aka FRE$H) didn’t get much of an opportunity to showcase his talents with Young Money. However, listeners got a small sample size on Pass The Dutch from the label’s We Are Young Money compilation album in 2009. The Houston native has made a name for himself over the past few years, and is sure to make himself known going forward.

Skooly & Fre$h a.k.a. Short Dawg – “Please Don’t”
Fans of Atlanta group Rich Kidz are certainly familiar with founding member Skooly. The group released their Y.A.R.S. EP in 2014. But Skooly has turned to focus more on his solo career, and fans are growing restless for his upcoming mixtape The Blacc John Gotti.
