Lexie Liu is one 88rising’s newest signees hailing from Changsha, Hunan, China. The 20-year-old just released her 5-track debut project 2030 featuring an appearance by Toronto rapper Killy. In China, Lexie is considered to be one of the countries leading rappers, having been a finalist on The Rap Of China.
Sites such as Highsnobiety named her one of the “10 new artists to watch in 2019,” and Refinery29 says that “their ears are very into Lexie.” V Magazine says that Lexie is “poised to become the face of a generation of new Chinese artists breaking into the American mainstream with a uniquely cross-cultural sound.” Though Lexie’s journey in integrating herself into the Western cultural scene is only at it’s beginning, she is making astounding strides in achieving her goal of worldwide success and recognition.
