Berkeley’s Marty Grimes has been working towards this moment for a long time. His life experiences include hitting the road for years with childhood best friend G-Eazy, running a pizza shop since he was 15, launching a strain of marijuana, helping to pay family bills, and striving to be a role model to his five younger brothers. Working hard to carve out his own lane, Marty went on tour this year, opening for G-Eazy on the When It’s Dark Out Tour and the Endless Summer Tour. On January 20 of next year, he will be releasing a 12-track mixtape titled Martyjuana, named after his own marijuana line.
In anticipation of the new project, Marty releases a new record titled “Doin Thangs.” The record highlights his success thus far, as he recounts how situations and people have been changing from him doin’ thangs. “I’ve been working my ass off.”
