HipHopDX Premiere: Elder Entertainment’s Ryan Elder worked in the studio with The Outlawz rapper Hussein Fatal on the original version of the song, “So Much Pain,” before Fatal’s untimely death in 2015. The remaining members of The Outlawz have returned with their own version of “So Much Pain,” which pays homage to 2Pac, Fatal and Shakur’s mother, Afeni. In addition to the Outlawz’s Young Noble and Edi A Mean, R&B singer Mike Green also makes an appearance with his soulful hook. The song is in consideration for the Tupac movie soundtrack.

“It’s a powerful record,” Young Noble tells DX. “We don’t like to redo 2Pac songs, but I think we did this one justice and did it in a different way.”

“It’s one of the last tracks we got to do with our brother Hussein Fatal,” Edi A Mean adds. “It has turned into a dedication song for him, Afeni, and all our other fallen comrades. R.I.P.”
