During an episode of the Boiler Room podcast, “Welcome 2 Detroit,” unreleased demo tapes from a 17-year-old J Dilla were played and promptly dissected. The files are apparently from the late producer’s own MPC. The episode also includes commentary from Dilla’s mentor, Amp Fiddler.
There are several unreleased demos scattered throughout the hour-long conversation. The first one comes at the 3:30 mark, the second at 4:30 and others play from the 6:00 to 7:30 marks.
