Siya has been putting her efforts in both acting and music, as she returns with a new season of The Sisterhood of Hip Hop, Oxygen’s hit television show, executive produced by Hustle Gang CEO T.I. Now, she’s unapologetically snatching crowns with a hot new track “New York, New York,” that commands respect without question.
“The “New York” record was sent to me by one of my producers, Lombardi Young and almost instantly I knew what I needed to do. I miss Hip Hop. Real Hip Hop. The music I was raised on: Big L, Nas, Dmx, Jay-Z, Biggie, Outcast, etc. I don’t get that feeling like I used to when I listen to music now. I can barely understand half of it and the rest is just watered down lyrics over bass heavy beats.”
Currently working on her highly anticipated debut LP Siya vs. Siya, the Brooklyn native has also been active in the LGBT community, campaigning for human rights. Peep the track and let us know what you think below.
