You’ve heard it sampled many times and for those who may not know where it came from, let me fill you in a bit. Kurtis Blow dropped his debut album on September 29, 1980 which featuring his hit single, “The Breaks.” As opposed to most Hip Hop songs which sample prerecorded funk, the funk beat in “The Breaks” is an original.
