Reggie Bonds is back with another freestyle vivid enough to double as a documentary. Hence the cover art for this release. On the track “Where I’m From Freestyle” Bonds spits a storytelling type freestyle fueled with tales from his hood back home in Milwaukee. Following up his Mobb Deep inspired “Quiet Storm Freestyle” Bonds took a trip out to New York City to record his version of Jay Z’s classic hood ode “Where I’m From.” Delivering bars at a raw and gritty pace the young emcee does the Jay Z classic justice and shows he can hold his own in the studio. From start to finish Bonds depicts his life of strife in an uncanny way demonstrating how he remains humble behind his talent while coming from the struggle. With bars like, “You know how we roll niggas don’t know the good life unless you talking Cosby but they turned em to a crook right?” shows the rappers ability to use irony and stay relevant all while explaining the lack of positive male figures surrounding him.
