Raleigh Ritchie teamed up with Sounwave to craft “Never Say Die” as a “token of his developing sound,” according to a press release. On the surface, “Never Say Die” is one of those pulsating trap-EDM joints that fades in and out as the song progresses, which gives it a huge, clubby feel. Ritchie has a good voice too and he has no problem sliding in on the poppy trap record. Underneath, the loosie single appears to be much more. “The song explores the idea that even the most fast living people hit a roadblock at some point,” Ritchie said, “And those people are more vulnerable to self-destruction.”
Many might recognize Raleigh Ritchie, real name Jacob Anderson, as Grey Worm from Game of Thrones. For more on the actor-singer, check out his “Cuckoo” joint with Lil Simz – it’s weird and awesome.
