On August 9 in Ferguson, Missouri, 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot to death by a police officer. The incident resulted in protestors who criticized the police’s use of excessive force to kill an unarmed teenager who was only days away from starting college. The protests were met with a militarized police response that has included armored trucks, rifles and tear gas. As more evidence emerges in the case, and tension stiffens between law enforcement and peaceful demonstrators, Hip Hop artists like Killer Mike have spoken out in the media. As the situation continues past its second week, the following rappers have released songs dedicated to Ferguson.
