As with many records these days the second album in the Game Over series has both its high
points and its lows, fortunately the first dominates.

To start off with the good news the first track to be discussed is On Da Run by an emcee that seems to have
disappeared off the face of the earth, none other than that Flavour In Ya Ear dude Craig Mack. Craig Mack comes incredibly tight on every verse over a dope beat.
If On Da Run is indicative of the
skills that Mack possesses then it
would be wise to keep an eye on this man. The Spit Squad‘s Master Fuol
rips apart a nice head-nodder like a hungry new-jack in a surprisingly
entertaining performance. Old school heads Das
EFX
, Master Ace, KRS-One, and K-Solo all rhyme strongly on their respective tracks.

The most effective song is arguably Get
Da Game Right
which features plenty of Agallah‘s
potent rhymes and beats in an effort that should serve to certify his already
credible street rep even further. As can be expected the songs contributed by Heltah Skeltah, Prodigy/Infamous Mobb, Punch
& Words
, and Jeru/Big Dap/Out
Loud
are all top quality. Sadly there are a few disappointments, most
notably Channel Live‘s Spark Dat which sounds lifeless. Tonedef‘s Round Em Up is basically noise pollution and Da Livest Shhht by Deacon Da
Villain
& Mr. Raw doesn’t
fare much better. One additional flaw in the otherwise excellence of this
record is the numerous irritating phone message interludes.

This is a decent record for just about anyone to pick up especially
underground, or old school heads that will appreciate the new songs by their
old favs.
