You’ve had the world singing along with you, your doing movies, collabrating with an R&B veteran on an album and you’ve even done a live album, as well as having rumours circulating about your next two albums (Blueprint 2 & The Gift and The Curse). What else is there for Jay Z to do? It has to be a greatest hits compilation and that falls in the shape of Jay Z Greatest Hits, Chapter One.

The album takes the stand out stellar tracks from his first three albums, “Reasonable Doubt“, “In My Lifetime Volume 1” and “Hard Knock Life“, “Volume 2“. All the tracks that put you onto the Jay Z flow are present on this album including the now infamous “Dead Presidents” featuring Nas (hehe), “Can’t Knock The hustle” and the STILL club filling track “Ain’t No N***a” featuring an impressive Foxy Brown. Also featured on the album is “Sunshine” featuring Babyface and Foxy Brown, “I Know What Girls Like” featuring Lil Kim and Puff (P) Daddy (Diddy) and the dangerous Swizz beats track “Money Cash Hoes” featuring DMX.

Although I spent my fair share of time hating on Jay Z, this album has reminded me of what he brought to the hip hop table and the influence he has put on certain members of the hip hop community (cough Nelly cough). Even though the majority of the party tracks appeared on the remainding albums, you still love to hear that old Jay flow.
