It’s been a while since the Long Beach Native graced us with his signature sound on an album of his own. After the poor sales of his first album, G Funk Classics, Nate went back to the lab and collected his thoughts. He spent the summer on EVERYONE’S tracks but now it’s time for his own, with his sophomore release, Music and Me.

14 tracks of hotness with production by Mel-Man, Jermaine Dupri, Dr. Dre and Mike City to name a few. Also, the smooth dog has called in a few favours from artists such as Lil Mo, Xzibit, Kurupt, Snoop and the Eastsidaz, Ludacris and many more.

But if they weren’t there, the album would still be a stellar effort. With the single ‘I Got Love‘ already making the rounds, Nate D.O. double gizzle gets sleazy on ‘Your Wife‘ featuring Dr. Dre, funky on ‘Backdoor‘ and gangsta on ‘Keep it G.A.N.G.S.T.A‘ featuring Lil Mo and Xzibit, with X lyrically on point.

“Trying to get large enough bank to get Brittany/ I’ma do Brittany like Bobby did Whitney/fu*k her whole life/donate a kidney.”

Other stand up and pay attention tracks include ‘Another Short Story‘ produced by Mike City, ‘Concrete Streets‘ and ‘Real Pimp‘ featuring Ludacris, who spits 16 bars that end in comedy. “Now it’s a frog in your throat/ Like Miss Piggy giving head.”

There aren’t many tracks that show Nate’s enthusiasm dropping but the numerous features question whether the Dogg can hold it dolo.

Doesn’t matter. Right now, the number one crooner from the West (not TQ) is back and this album displays Nate in all his pimp daddy vocalising glory.
