Young Thug Admits To Having Suicidal Thoughts In Jail Freestyle

Young Thug continues to sit behind bars on RICO charges, and it appears he’s been channeling his emotions into writing rhymes. On Thursday (June 16), Thugga’s nephew and YSL signee BSlime posted a video on Instagram of him speaking with the Punk rapper over the phone.

During their conversation, Thug dropped a freestyle touching on his experience in jail and everything that’s been on his mind since he was arrested on May 9. The ATLien rapped a capella about asking God for another chance, wanting to be reunited with his family and the loyalty of his team.

“I’m just sitting here in my cell like, ‘Damn, I’m really in jail’/God, give me another chance to show you I can prevail/I could put my arms from wall to wall inside this tiny-ass cell,” he spit.

However, the most revealing part of Young Thug’s freestyle is when he admitted to having suicidal thoughts while behind bars: “I tried to cry but ain’t nothing left/I contemplated doing myself, n-gga/The most suicides deaths are in this jaill/But let’s not forget that this ain’t Hell.”

It’s no secret that the prison system can break down those who manage to find themselves locked up. In Thugga’s case, his time in Cobb County jail hasn’t been a walk in the park.

Last month, the rapper’s attorney, Brian Steel, filed a motion for an emergency bond hearing due to the “inhumane” jail conditions. Steel claimed his client isn’t able to bathe, exercise or get proper sleep due to an overhead light in his cell that stays on 24 hours a day, while his meals comprise of trays of “inedible” food.

However, Judge Ural Glanville denied the bond request, declaring Thug a “danger to the community” and a “flight risk.”

Young Thug Sends Message To Fans From Behind Bars At Hot 97 Summer Jam

In a pre-recorded voice message broadcast during Hot 97 Summer Jam at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on June 12, Young Thug thanked his fans for their support while urging them to sign Rap Music on Trial: Protect Black Art, a recently-launched petition calling for lawmakers to prevent rap lyrics from being used in court to convict artists of alleged crimes.

“I just want to say thank you to all of my friends and my family for coming out and supporting us,” he said. “You know, your support during this time means a lot to us. This isn’t just about me or YSL. I always use my music as a form of artistic expression, and now I see that Black artists and rappers don’t have that freedom. Everybody please sign the ‘Protect Black Art’ petition and keep praying for us. I love you all.”

    1. You deserve to be in there. You committed a very serious crime. You killed Hip Hop with that gay ass mumble emo trans pop bullshit music you were doing and that’s and even bigger crime than your drug empire, the 50 murders your responsible for, or the weapons they found on you.

    2. Now I’ve never gotten into his catalog of “music” because I’m not 16 and on lean. However I’m sure if I combed through his stuff I’d find lines about how he’d do life before snitching or some such content yet you’ve been in county for 2 weeks and contemplate suicide. You’ve either been lying about your ability to do time and not ratting or lying about suicide for sympathy. Please let me know which is the lie because I feel one of them has to be based on that

      1. He doesn’t drink lean anymore. And he isn’t able to shower or exercise. And he has a light that ✨ stays on 24rhs in his celll. And he’s suffered from depression. Don’t judge.

    3. All that tough talk shit out the window when you can’t move how you want and at the mercy of other humans in charge of your day to day. The snitching comes next…

      1. Please,no more…my ears can’t take it. This is cruel and unusual punishment.

    4. Waaah, I maybe am responsible for murders and drug deals, even though Im already a rich rapper, waaah, please get me out of jail -Young Thug
