The rap world has been waiting for an update from Young Dolph ever since he was shot in Los Angeles on September 26. The Memphis rapper finally broke his silence this weekend with a simple tweet of his signature catchphrase.
“Its DOLPH!” he wrote with multiple dolphin emojis.
The brief message was a positive development in this saga, which saw Dolph rushed to a Los Angeles hospital last week after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. At one point, he was said to be in critical condition.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated that Dolph was shot after getting into an altercation with three men outside Loews Hollywood Hotel. Police are still looking for two of the men after arresting Yo Gotti affiliate Corey McClendon on Wednesday (September 27).
McClendon was released with no charges on Friday (September 29) after prosecutors requested a “further investigation” by police. Greg Risling, a spokesman for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, would not say what this investigation would entail but explained why McClendon was released.
“Under California law, if you are arrested and booked and no charges are filed within 48 hours, you have to be released,” Risling said, according to USA Today. “Come back to us with a case and then [the district attorney] will decide whether to file charges.”

So an artist in the rap game(yes i phrase it this way instead of “rap artist” for a reason) possibly gets shot by a Yo Gotti affiliate, sends out his first line of communication since being in critical condition with multiple gun shot wounds and you think hiphopdx is a joke for reporting it? I agree hiphopdx definitely posts their fair share of ridiculous articles (as most websites do) but this isn’t one of them. In fact it’s exactly the opposite, both Gotti & Dolph are recognized names within the industry (Gotti more so) who have an ongoing dispute that has led to multiple shootings and diss tracks. As a website based around Hip Hop it’s exactly the type of story they should be reporting because mainstream media sure the hell isnt. So if you honestly think the websites a joke why even come to the site, click on the article, read the article, then comment on the article? Sure sounds like a hater to me.
