YNW Melly’s double murder trial is currently underway, and the father of one of the alleged victims has made it clear that he is convinced of the rapper’s guilt.
The “Murder on My Mind” hitmaker and Cortlen Malik Henry (YNW Bortlen) have been accused of killing two people on October 2018: YNW Juvy (Christopher Thomas Jr., 19) and YNW Sakchaser (Anthony Williams, 21). All four were part of the Young N-gga World collective.

Juvy’s father believes that the dispute was rooted in their plans to sell the YNW brand for “marketing and licensing.” “Melly was gonna get $200,000, Sak was gonna get $200,000, Chris was gonna get $100,000,” he told Law & Crime.
He claimed Melly wanted more money than the other founding members, which is what led to the fatal altercation.

“From day one, I believed that Melly was responsible for my son’s death on October 26,” Juvy’s father said. Based on the “demeanor” and “body language” of the accused, he has no doubts that they are responsible for the murder of his son and YNW Sakchaser.
He continued: “When I finally talked to [Melly] and Cortlen on FaceTime, their response and how they reacted — they showed no remorse. They didn’t act like they was grievin,’ like they lost a best friend or nothin’ … in my opinion, they were in the best spirits. They never came to town, never came to my son’s funeral.”
To emphasize Melly’s alleged insincerity, he pointed out that “his defense attorney got him wearin’ turtle necks to hide his neck, ’casue he got ‘Jamell’ tatted on his neck — that’s Sak mom’s name. And he got Chris name and Sak name.”
“These are best friends … he couldn’t even stop and pay his condolences to his best friend’s mom,” he added. “I have no words for that guy.”
Juvy’s father has previously spoken about the murder and its ensuing trial publicly. He recently posted a video calling out those showing support for Melly.
“Man, everybody that’s saying free Melly,” he said before flashing a middle finger to the camera. “That’s to you and your mama and your daddy and everybody that look like you. And that’s me, I said it.
“Y’all are bitches, man. Boosie down there supporting Melly — he flaw as fuck for that. He don’t even know that n-gga Melly. He talking ’bout, ‘I want Melly free ’cause that n-gga bought me snacks and a magazine at the airport.’ What?”
Earlier this month it was confirmed that the State of Florida will seek the death penalty against YNW Melly if he is found guilty in the case, as long as the verdict of guilt is unanimous in the case.
