Usher seemingly plans on incorporating roller skating into his performance at the Super Bowl in Paradise, Nevada this weekend.

During an interview with Apple Music’s Nadeska Alexis that went live on Thursday (February 8), the R&B icon discussed his upcoming show in Allegiant Stadium halfway through the showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.

He said: “I thought about a few moments that were special in dance, I thought some things I created here in Las Vegas, like skating, and doing things that I’ve not done on stage up until this point, to be able to share that with the world.

“For everybody that heard about my show in Las Vegas, you’re now going to get a chance to see some of what I did here, but you’re going to see the best of it because it’s in front of 60,000 people in this room and hopefully another 180 million people for the world to see.”

Last week, the 45-year-old released his latest album. Coming Home marks his first full-length project since 2016’s Hard II Love and is made up of 20 joints in total.

The tracklist features the previously-released singles “Good Good” with 21 Savage and Summer Walker, “Ruin” with Pheelz, “Risk It All” with H.E.R. and the “Usher Remix” of Jung Kook’s “Standing Next to You.” In addition, the package boasts collaborations with Burna Boy, Latto and The-Dream.

The project is being released via a partnership between mega and gamma — the former is a new record label founded by veteran music executive L.A. Reid, and Usher has said publicly that he has “ownership” in the business.

Coming Home is the first release from mega. Reid has been involved in Usher’s career since the beginning, signing the singer to LaFace Records when he was just 14.

gamma. is, per a press release, a “multimedia platform providing creative and business services across all artistic and commercial formats.” It was founded by former Apple Music Global Creative Director Larry Jackson and veteran music executive Ike Youssef.

Usher explained the album’s title in the following statement: “Coming Home is an ode to going back to your roots, whatever or wherever that may be. I’m Coming Home to where I’m comfortable in being exactly who I am right now.
