Tyrese‘s ex-wife, Samantha Lee, has finally admitted to her role in the demise of her relationship with the singer and Fast & Furious actor.

In two separate videos that went viral on Saturday (October 28), the licensed social worker addressed the finer points of her marriage, including the role she played in its ending.

“I’m not allowing this to be twisted,” she said in the first video. “I took accountability in that interview. I don’t take back anything that I said. When you grow, and you learn, and you’re in relationships with people, and you go from those relationships and grow from those relationships, you have to take accountability for what you did, and your part in it.”

In the second video, she went on to acknowledge that she certainly played a role in things getting as bad as they did between the former pair. “In that interview, I came in with the mentality that I was going to own me. I can’t own anybody else’s behavior. I can only own mine,” she said. “And I’m not going to allow myself to get into anything. To get into the potholes, and to get into the tricks of trying to make this very messy and ugly — uglier than it is.”

The interview Lee was referring to in her comments was with Hardly Initiated. In it, she went into detail about her very public divorce from Tyrese and expressed regret over how things played out.

“I was not in any position to make that decision,” she said about going through with the split. “I was extremely emotionally intoxicated. We can be intoxicated with our emotions and I’m one — I’m very much emotionally led.”

She added: “I would never tell somebody to make that decision when they’re that emotional, but ‘course, I wasn’t talking to someone that genuinely would be for marriage or for reconciliation.”

On Monday (October 23), her ex-husband took to Instagram Live after catching wind of the aforementioned comments, and made it clear that he did not believe any of what she said about their marriage.

“We both were divorcee kids, grew up in toxic environments, torn in between our old family, new family, stepfather, stepmother,” he said. “That’s a life that we both lived, and you packed up a 1-year-old, put a COVID mask on top of the Ring cameras and I was literally on an airplane on my way home to fight for my marriage and my family. You’re heartless.

“None of your friends recognize you — this is all about money. If you had friends in your ear, you’re lying, you’re gaslighting, you’re playing. The only person that was in your ear was your mama… You did not have people in your ear.”

He later added: “If you had people in your ear at the time, they must be still in your ear because you still trying to get $20,000 a month for a 5-year-old. You make $160,000 a year on your own.”

Tyrese and Lee split in 2020, following which the singer was ordered to pay her $20,000 per month in child support to help raise their daughter. The large sum caused many to believe that she only married him because he’s rich, with the singer himself saying that he also thinks she had an ulterior motive.

In early September, she took to her Instagram Live to deny these claims, saying: “People know I make us a good amount of money. Why would I do that for money? No. I love this person, and there were just certain things that just didn’t work out.”

Resharing the clip in a since-deleted Instagram post, Tyrese wrote: “I have NO CLUE who this person is…… #Gaslighting is the most vile form of manipulation she’s out trying to sell people on shit that nobody is sold on.”

He proceeded to share exactly what he thought of her, calling her a “Gold digger, Gaslighter, narcissist, manipulator.”

He then added: “For a woman who doesn’t want money from me, you’ve already hired THREE different LAW FIRMS, trying to crack the prenuptial agreement, you drug this divorce trial out into almost 3 years and now you’re requesting a new trial with a jury.”
