Ty Dolla $ign has given fans an update on his joint album with Kanye West after a listening event was canceled at the last minute.
The as-yet-untitled album has been teased for months without any concrete details emerging, but Ty Dolla has reiterated to fans that the project is coming.

While performing on stage over the weekend, the singer offered an update, saying: “I just landed on a flight from Saudi Arabia. I’ve been out there recording a part of my album with my brother Ye. And that’s coming real soon.”

A listening event for the album was originally planned for November 3, but was canceled with less than 48 hours notice without explanation.
The last-minute cancelation has become commonplace in the album’s rollout after a stadium event planned for Italy in October was also axed.

The project is also without a distributor as West remains without a record label after numerous antisemitic remarks and comments in praise of Adolf Hitler.
It has been reported that the major labels are unwilling to work with the rap mogul given his comments and affiliation with white supremacist figures such as Nick Fuentes.

Kanye was previously signed to Def Jam for the entirety of his career, but that deal came to an end in 2021 with the release of his 10th studio album Donda.
Rick Ross has spoken about signing West to his Maybach Music label, saying: “I just had an amazing idea, a boss idea. This is something that’s extremely realistic to me.
“We’ve created amazing masterpieces in the past. The boss, Ricky Rozay, I’m interested in signing Kanye West. Maybach Music. Ye, what’s up? Talk to me. Let’s make history, baby.”
Ross also expressed a desire to release the West-Dolla $ign collaborative album through his MMG imprint.

Images recently emerged of Kanye West working in Saudi Arabia in a makeshift desert studio. The images showed him in desolate setting surrounded by little except chairs and tents.
It is not the first time that YYe has recorded in an unusual environment. His 2018 album ye was produced at his ranch in Wyoming, while much of Watch The Throne — much of Donda was recorded backstage at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
