Most people are well aware Kanye West supports Donald Trump, but a line from the Jesus Is King cut “Closed On Sunday” really has people scratching their heads.
Twitter has come out in droves to dissect Ye’s ninth studio album and the lyric, “Closed on Sunday, you my Chick-fil-A/You’re my number one, with the lemonade” has exploded into memes and GIFs online.
The fast food chain, which has come under fire in recent years for its opposition to the LGBTQ community, is closed every Sunday to honor founder Truett Cathy’s Christian faith.
And evidently, Kanye is here for it — while the majority of Twitter is clearly not. But naturally, there were a few people who found the line Hila-Riou-S and made them want a chicken sandwich.
Check out some of the reactions below.
It’s almost 2020 and Kanye West just gave problematic ass Chik-fil-A a whole track of free promo pic.twitter.com/MBkZz3gY6s

kanye west is such a douche. glorifying chik-fil-a and trump while putting on a christian persona to sell his merchandise because society thinks christian = good person who can do no wrong. if you genuinely like his music that's fine but fuckin christ, he enables awful behavior

I love Kanye West and his artistry, and it warms my heart that he has found religion, but he lost me with "Closed on Sunday, you're my Chik fil a".
