Tupac Estate In New Hands, Unreleased Music Could Be Unearthed

In a new announcement, the state of Tupac’s estate is in “total reset” after a recent Gatorade commercial set a new precedent in releasing the late West Coast rapper’s material.

According to Billboard, JAM Inc.’s Jeff Jampol, Shakur’s mother, Afeni and Tom Whalley, who originally signed Tupac to Interscope in the early 90s are currently working in coordination in order to release never before heard music from ‘Pac and apparently, there’s a bunch of it.

According to Whalley, the music “is in bits and pieces, some of it is complete; some of it is good, some of it needs work.” He also remarks that “the work that is left can be completed, and is worth his fans hearing.” Along with the unreleased music are “remixes, original demos, writings, scripts, plans, video treatments, poems” that’ve never been available to the public. Perhaps also notable is that there’s a forthcoming biography by “a very serious writer,” according to Mr. Whalley.

Kendrick Lamar’s recently released album, To Pimp A Butterfly contains an interview with Tupac Shakur on the track “Mortal Man.” Whalley claims Kendrick approached him about using the interview–something he approved. It’s also been thrown around that Kendrick’s most recent collaboration with Tupac’s unearthed material isn’t going to be an isolated occurrence and that there’s a good chance their music could come together again in the future.

    1. Tupac is shit and the only reason why people know him is because he got gunned down in 96. Biggie was MUCH better.

      1. You must be young DUMB AND FULL OF CUM 2pac will always be the best to ever do it,no other rappers talk about real issues of the world NOT SPIRITUALLY OR POLITICALLY,especially the rappers of today because they all cowards, and afraid to offend someone BEING REAL “IS” a thing of the past! And i hate when someone compare biggie to 2pac to ,he to never rapped about NOTHING IMPORTANT the only role he played was bringing the east coast BACK but people want tell you that out of fear!!! And Gucci mane should NEVER be mentioned in the same sentence as 2pac ,he’s just a ignorant FOOL and you must be one too,the only rappers to half way compare to 2Pac is SCARFACE.ICE CUBE.KRS1 PUBLIC ENEMY.WU-TANG .RAKIM ALLAH.just to name a few more with something important to say.sure Biggie was lyrical and a game changer, because all these NEW FOOLS who talk about money is using his style, and don’t even know it…you don’t know these thing because you was not alive yet ,that’s why i hate that anybody can claim to be apart of this culture now ,because most don’t know S#!T…

      2. “the only reason why people know him is because he got gunned down in 96” Really? Tupac, one of the most prolific rappers of the 90s who was very successful in music and movies and got a lot of media attention, was only known by people for getting shot? Either you’re trolling or you were born after 1996.

    2. Gucci mane is realer than tupac ever was.

      Gucci killed a nigga
He smashed a nigga with beer bottles
He threw ratchet bitches out of moving cars
He Performed a concert with bulletproof vests despite getting death threats
He runs the streets he runs the cells.
Real niggas and gangbangers all grew up listening to big Gucci.
Despite being rich he still stays loyal to the streets

Free the realest to ever hold a mic free Gucci MAne

    3. Nice!…And for all those who say Biggie is better than 2pac you have lost your damn minds. I have 10 albums of OG 2pac material plus the 7 studio albums he released versus Biggie’s 2 albums. Biggie only had two styles. Money hoes and clothes OR selling crack. Pac was so diverse and had those songs but he also rapped about the struggle, his moms, his pops, young mothers, peace, war, violence, prosperity, the youth, his own demons, etc. Even outside of the music, Pac was about so much more. He was an actor, a poet, a warrior, a preacher, an activist, a revolutionary, a big brother to everyone. IMHO, they pale in comparison inside and outside the music. That’s just my opinion.

    4. cool as long as its not butchered and its just tupac. i dont wanna see no diddy bullshit like he did to duets added 100 people on there.. just pac. and if there is features make it ppl he rly did feautre in real life no side fucks

    5. The same damn troll mentions Gucci Mane every time there’s a 2pac post or posts about RNS. Keep trollin boy. No one is taking you serious. On a side note, Tupac is the the all around GOAT. Maybe not at freestylin or insane metaphors, but having substance to his words. He had wordplay and cadence down pat; don’t get it twisted

    6. Tupac was a fake balerina thug who was never about that life he rapped about. He hid behind suge and was scared for his life through out his final years. Unlike tupac gucci has real street cred. He killed a man and if pac ever stepped up to gucci, gucci would have killed that nigga. Real recognize real none of you fake niggas can appreciate a real gangster like Big Gucci

      1. He never denied his upbringing? In fact he actually admitted in an interview that he never even had a police record until he became famous. He was also charged for shooting two off duty police officers in Atlanta in 1993 and he damn sure didn’t back down from being robbed at gunpoint in the elevator in NYC so your statement is irrelevant

      2. Tupac shot 2 crooked cops. And the charges were dropped. It doesn’t really get any more gangster than that.

    7. I love the comments are all about 2pac and Biggie. Move on. They died fucking ages ago. And at least one of them was extremely average and the other gets waaaay overhyped. I’ll let y’all fight about that though.

      1. yet these two rappers still influence and are your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper … they were the greatest ever, get over it

    8. Does this means we get more songs about: smoking weed, drinking henessey, thug in jail, thug in heaven, thugbitch, the thug in me?

Pac gotta be the most repetitive rapper ever. They should have never released those albums after his death

      1. i actually feel what this dudes talking about but it aint pacs fault he was already gone he had no control over it, its the people who keep releasing these “new 2pac” cds all they do is take his old shit chop it up into snippets move the lyrics around remix the beat and claim its new music but he just keeps saying the same old shit he said on his old albums let the man rest in peace! And kendrick doesnt even deserve to be mentioned jn the same sentence as tupcas and has no business being in the same song i dont care where hes from hes nowhere near the same lyrical level as pac foh kendrick fake ass andre 3000

      2. only the softer than air cornballs say that “thug” sh*yt when dude had many of real verses and thoughts. Your rapgenius knowledge is seeping thru the comment box because a G would know there’s info in them verses and the question is who gonna executive the work so it don’t just become stereotype rap.

    9. I dunno… R U Still Down was music from an era where he was actually saying something. Until the End of Time and Better Dayz had some moments but were really apart of the time he spent early in Death Row clearly. Since then its been mostly that era and the people at fault are the fans of him posthumously that never took the time to hear what the guy was saying prior to Death Row. Reading through the comments you can clearly see the impact of that as people are tired of that same thing. If he has records that were recorded from an earlier period where he had something to say then by all means… lets hear em but if it’s more of the same bitchez and money than lets keep em wrapped up

      1. Cmon. The Makaveli 7 Day Theory Album was some of his most thought provoking material. 2 Live & Die in LA, Krazy, White Man’z World, and Hold Ya Head are CLASSICS. You have to imagine, people were trying to kill him. Wouldn’t you bug out? You can’t be soft in the presence of death threats. The 90’s was a violent period of time. I feel you though. R U Still Down is a great snapshot of Pac pre-Death Row and I love that album. Until the End of Time and Better Dayz had some amazing material but those weren’t the original (OG) versions of the songs. I have it all, but I want that re-released in OG version for all the world to receive.

      2. y’all both right and as true music fans the voices need to be loud so these “suit & tie” A&R dudes don’t think Iggy should get one of these songs because it’s in THEIR “best interest”, and someone like Shock G should be around to pick from the lot, after all he was there when Pac was writing.

    10. Regardless of what anyone says, there isn’t and never will be another hiphop artist with as much international influence as 2pac. NEVER

    11. Actually The New Generation Of Rap & Hip Hop Is Fake They Alwayz Tryin To Be Like Old School Rappers They Have Nothing Just Money All New Hip Hop Just Talk About Money & Bitches That’s All … 2Pac He Iz Da King 4 Ever … His Music Still In Da Game & a Lot Of Fans Of Hip Hop & Special His Fans Still Listen To His Music …
