Travis Scott Facing $750M Lawsuit Filed By Another 125+ Astroworld Attendees

Houston attorney Tony Buzbee has reportedly filed another massive lawsuit against Travis Scott, Drake, Apple, Live Nation and others involved in the Astroworld tragedy on November 5. According to Forbes, Buzbee is representing over 125 concert attendees who were affected physically, mentally and/or emotionally by the deadly event. They are seeking over $750 million in damages.

The lawsuit claims the people behind the event failed to “make an even minimal effort” to keep concert attendees away from harm, citing the death of 21-year-old Axel Acosta, one of 10 people who passed away during the crowd surge.

Buzbee  also pointed out Scott’s history of “glorified violence and other dangerous behaviors,” bringing up the 2015 Lollapalooza incident in which he faced reckless conduct charges and several social media posts encouraging the crowds “to rage.”

“No amount of money will ever make these Plaintiffs whole; no amount of money can restore human life,” Buzbee said. “But, the damages sought in this case attempts to fix, help, or make up for the harms and losses suffered by these Plaintiffs — nothing more and nothing less.”

The latest filing comes on the heels of another lawsuit blitz filed by attorneys Ben Crump, Alex Hilliard and John Duffy. On November 12, Crump and his team held a press conference at Houston’s Harris County Civil Courthouse and announced they’re representing over 200 alleged victims who say they suffered both physically and mentally as a result of the Astroworld tragedy. They’ve filed 110 lawsuits and are planning on filing 90 more.

Astroworld Attendee Injured During Travis Scott's Performance Declared Brain Dead

Scott and Live Nation offered refunds almost immediately to concertgoers, but the lawsuits called it “a transparent and grotesque effort of the Defendants to limit their liability, after the fact, to the families of those killed or injured.”

Ten people died and over 300 were injured as the crowd of roughly 50,000 people attempted to rush the stage as Scott performed. The tenth victim, 9-year-old Ezra Blount, passed away on Sunday (November 14). Blount had been in medically induced coma with damage to his internal organs including his lungs, kidney and heart. He was also suffering from brain swelling due to cardiac arrest.

Mirza Baig, 27, Rodolfo Peña, 23, Madison Dubiski, 23, Franco Patiño, 21, Jacob Jurinke, 20, John Hilgert, 14, Axel Acosta Avila, 21, Brianna Rodriguez, 16, and Bhari Shahari, 22, also lost their lives as a result of the event.

    1. Damn. This is gonna fuck up the concert experience going forward. We’re finally able to go to a show again and this shit happens. RIP to the attendees that died too. Just sad.

    2. Bro,Travis didn’t tell those broke ass people to hop the fence to the show.He was doing what he was payed to do: perform.Everyones saying he should have stopped, but what difference would it have made? They were going crazy nothing he could have done but what off,AND they would still be going crazy.

      1. what difference would it have made? sounds like you never been in a mosh pit before or this large of a crowd. he could have assisted with crowd control. dude has a mic with 40k+ fans listening to anything he would say including direction. he could have even called for help from security, etc but nothing. i go to hiphop , metal, rock shows and this type of bad management and operations is on a whole another level. your right about peeps hopping the fence, but how does that even happen in 2021? this aint woodstock in the 60s lol.

        1. No totally disagree. He was the performer that’s was his sole task & which he did. With a crowd of 40k plus how would he be able to detect issues amongst all part of said crowd specially while being in the zone during the performance and all sorts of lighting effects on/off stage. The sole blame and responsibility should be on the people placed on the ground to monitor crowd disturbances by the arena management ergo the arena management are to blame simple as.

          1. Heres a wild observation…but a ambulance trying to drive thru crowd literally right in front of you is kinda a sign somethings up. But yes, arena management is more to blame, but Scott isnt Scott Free .

    3. Welp, there you have it. Lawyers and money getting involved. Don’t get me wrong, i truly feel for the people who lost their lives and even the ones go made it out. But to turn this into a class-action suit is just demeaning to me. The guy even wanted to pay for the victims’ funerals and give everyone their money back. Just a very sad situation.

      1. oh boo hoo yeah those nasty people suing because the concert went wrong – lol. how many times I back down from a stupid fight because I thought if I punch this guy in the face and he dies I could get charged with murder over a stupid bar fight. People who post on here would laugh at me in that moment call me a chicken. So what if I don’t want that punch a guy hit him on the jaw knock him flat and he hits his head on the concrete and dies? Then what? pay for the funeral? Cry about I didn’t mean to? Son this is the real world and actions have consequences. Yr boy must face the music. He cannot buy his way out with whoever money

    4. five or six million each for people who were blessed to make it out and had the wherewithal to acquire a lawyer and fucking sue. Ridiculous. But such is American culture. Rest In Peace to those departed, best of recovery to those injured.

    5. No one wants to blame Travis Scott. Not one sane person wants to blame him. The fact that racists might be having a field day about it doesn’t mean it’s not his fault. He promoted the show as some kind of vision quest ordeal that might get violent. He has a history of encouraging rowdy behavior at shows that has led to serious injuries. Then we see the videos of the show. So anyone thinking Travis Scott is being bullied or is some kind of victim must be an agent in some way
